UEC are advertsing this on Imparja directing you to HOWEVER there is nothing on this site to let you actually order the thing? Are we missing something - like getting old and senile?

Anyone on the forum selling this? Like the idea of buying the drive with the remote as we have been caught before with non compatability.

On the website select "contact us" it gives you a phone number Ph 02 94255777 & email address sales@uec.com.au or a contact form which states "If you prefer us to contact you, simply fill out the form and someone will contact you shortly."
Either way you will have to purchase over the phone so might as well ring them.

I was charged for the remote upgrade kit only, $65 including GST & postage.

I didn't ask for the Remote & HDD, so don't know what the price was.
However that special price has either finished "very limited time only" or you have to request it.

When I asked about the $129 price advertised on TV I was told that did not include GST and postage - total cost came to $149.

I think you will find $129 included GST as its illegal to advertise a price exclusive of GST unless you specifically state the 2 price components eg: $xx + GST.

$20 for P&H is reasonable.

Its still not a bad price, I paid $88 for my Seagate 1TB extension HDD at Hardly Normal. Add the $65 that I paid for the remote incl P&H, that's $153.

Just received my $129 kit today. Spent this arvo playing around with it. It seems to work fine as advertised. The hard drive is a Seagate and it does spin down after a few minutes at idle when the DSD4121 is in standby. Quite happy with it -- no more commercials for me.

If you had much experience with the DSD4121 you wouldn't be so free using "technology company" to describe them. More features on a 1985 VCR.

The guy in the cheap ebay link is now $65 free p&p
