    Default Ultraplus 980HD "scrambled service"

I am regularly getting "scrambled service" when viewing ch7 Aust.. Has anyone had this problem? I am using a copied card. The card reader has been replaced with no improvement.

Channel 7 is NDS encrypted. Prior to Foxtels recent changes, their cards opened it up but a copied card? You might need to disclose more details.

all that is written on it is silver card, open platform.( I should add that the card has worked perfectly and still does in my strong srt4620 II box)

oh ok so you're talking Aurora Central 7. I would confirm with UltraPlus directly what firmware version works. The earlier firmwares supported silvers in the slot without using MCAS but I don't remember which. I reckon it's easier to buy a blue and white Irdeto CAM. They're fairly cheap now and then you can keeping using the later firmware.

I believe Aurora has a short life span so I can not see the worth of getting a Iredo Cam. Does anybody no what firmware works?

Ok aparently MCAS will work with silver Aurora cards! Go into the plugin menu and make sure MCAS is set to Auto and Started. With the MCAS plugin highlighted, press ok on the remote and it will take you into the MCAS menu. Select configuration and change the reset sequence to T14-T0. Exit out and put your card in. If no pics, turn the box off and back on.

Thanks, but I have tried that. Perhaps I should explain that most of the time it works, however it can fail two to three times in an hour. It's mainly a bother when I set up to record something I have no idea wether it will work or not.

I would go with a CAM then. Check out the blue and white irdeto cams on ebay uk.
