picked up a brand new asus transformer prime with dock from officeworks today for $527.
I asked for best price at JB and they said without dock around $560. I went to get the extra 5% off at officeworks and the fella that served me did not even ask to see proof of offer or anything like they usually do. He just handed me one with the dock and charged me that cheap price....gotta have a win sometimes
and btw it is the sweetest/slickest/fastest/prettiest tablet i have ever used and seen

Nice deal well done,
I had a quick search and the pics look nothing like a Robot disguised as a Red and Blue Big Rig Truck...???
Surely Asus will have a copyright infringement on their hands haha
Nice work - pays to negotiate. Wonders what the trade/wholesale price is as tend to believe that JB Hifi aren't over-extortionate with their pricing like other retailers that make absurd claims of being #1 retailer!
<steps off> soapbox - had to get that out of my system!
Yes nice product - as was chatting with our IT guy at work around a month back and he claimed this was the device to have. The iPad would be nice if the darned thing had a USB port, therefore off my list primarily due to this. Pricing was the only thing that has held me back. Ozchips - suggesting this is your chance to sell me the dream, if its that good!

If your going down that slippery slope - then over half the Linux distribution 'release' names would be in trouble, i.e. Debian use Pixar's Toy Story names.
Yes - I thought the same though, as remembered the name from a conversation purely on the association of robots!
Wonder why I didn't become a $$$$$ lawyer - oh, that's right I have ethics!!!!

porkchops, not much to do with negotiating skills this time, more to do with the young officeworks salesman being more interested in exercising his muscles and doing his hair than proper protocol for matching a price.
As far as this v ipad, yes I have gone for other devices simply because they are more versatile ie connections etc. But everyting about this particular tablet exudes quality. The missus has an acer a500 tablet, and an ipad 3 which she has for work since education qld uses apple products and she even prefers the acer over the ipad. It is slower and the screen is not as good, but again it is more versatile. She actually says the best partt is when she is in meetings and others have ipads and they want her to email the information, she says I can just wahck it on a usb stick for you, oh thats right ipads do not have them and then has a chuckle (she is not a fan of the ipad at all). She uses the ipad for official ed qld stuff and the acer for everything else. Thought now she wants my asus lol
