    Default microsoft outlook problem

I am using microsoft outlook for my email which came with microsoft office.
Unfortunatly i am getting an error message when i open it
"Microsoft outlook has encounted a problem and needs to close"
I removed microsoft office and re installed still the same.

anyone ever had this problem ?

Also is it possible to retrieve old emails somewhere on my computer.

    running windows XP

further to that you can move that pst file to some other temp location, then create a new pst (this will do it automatically) then import the old pst

go through control panel > mail and play with the profile/data file options there. safest bet is to create a new default file, but keep the old one as well
