It was not enough to have a bathroom flex house explode on me last week. Tonight our washing machine has decided to play up

After another verbal slinging match with the missus I have come to the conclusion that as the machine is definitely more than 10 years old (maybe 15) and it is not worth having it repaired

It seems the cold water intake solenoids have given up. I am not sure if some other problems e.g. computer or motor is reacting to the problem or also about to fail

I tried to be a smarty pants and swap the hot and cold hoses around (we mainly use cold water washes) based on one solenoid being faulty ... this was not much better.

I figure to get some one in plus parts would be at least $200 ... looking a complete new machine would be $800 tops

The current machine is a Fisher&Paykel 708 7.5 kg

Has anyone had this problem and or what do you reckon we should do here?
