    Default Hawaii Map for TomTom?

I just picked up a OneV3 and managed to update the bootloader, map, navcore, added TTS and speed cameras and a few voices, thanks everyone for your informative posts. This is a very well put together site and all the information needed was found easily and was easy to follow.

    My Question is:
    1) Is there a separate map of Hawaii available for TomTom? Because all the North America maps are way too large to fit on my devices internal memory.

    and

    2) If I solder an SD card internally will that give me more RAM or Disk space?

    Thanks again..

    1. No
    2. Ram has nothing to do with storage capacity, if you could add more Ram that easily we would not the problem of 32mb for so many devices

I didnt think there were separate maps for the States of USA, Thanks for clarifying that.

If I added, say a 4GB SD, I could in theory then install the North America map?
Will the One V3 handle this?

    thanks

You have to check the circuit board if it fits the pics in my tut - if so you can add a SD - but best to use micro SD and an adapter, that way you solder on an empty card holder and can't damage the SD
If you use a SDHC it is wise to check if your Bootloader is 5.5012 or higher

Yes, bootloader is 5.5136. I'll open her up and see if the board matches your images and yes, i have an adaptor and micro sd. All I can say now is AWESOME.

    thanks.

Why do you want separate maps for Hawaii, head in one direction and when you think you have seen the same thing 10 times stop, this applies to all the islands

I'm pretty good at finding my way around and certainly it's hard to become lost on a small island but I like to put in things like Airport / Hotel / Restaurants and Tourist spots etc making the first trip easy. I have an old windows mobile phone with 16gb and latest maps that has served me well for years to fall back on if this idea becomes too hard.

    cheers.

You can still buy single maps from TT, but you have to request them nicely.
Last time I hear of it was for a Florida map two years ago, TT chardeg 15$ -so might be worth checking if they still provide this service for holiday makers....
