Default RH7823W - won't play all copied discs?

    Hi All,

Purchased this LG RH7823W DVD recorder (used) for a mate who changed his mind. Anyway was testing it out and it plays 1 in 5 copied discs. I read up on how to make the unit region free and did that, but it still won't play all my discs. Plays originals perfectly.

I am looking for any suggestions? The copied discs were all produced by me and play on any of my 4 DVD players, I used mainly DVD-R and an occasional DVD+R, I don't think that that would be an issue but who knows?

    Anyone struck this before?

    Cheers

    Fixed.

Ok for those who strike this , load your disc, press the menu then press play about 7 times. I know it sounds bizarre but it works. Found the fix on google after much searching. Its a hack code for LG's much like making the unit region free, open the tray press setup then press 0 x 7 times.

I'm just haveing some problems reading those instructions.....

So 'press setup' is taking about a game and it's setup button for it's installer?
And 'press 0 x 7 times' is talking about pressing the play button on the front of the drive 7 times?

    Hi Fernbay,

I am referring to the remote that comes with the LG DVD Recorder. There is a "menu" button on the remote which you press then you press the play button seven times.

    Copied from "Video help" below

    1. Power on.
    2. Open the disc tray.
    3. Press menu.
    4. Highlight the lock icon.
    5. Press '0' on the keypad for 1-2 seconds seven times.
    6. You will get a message saying "Congratulations! Region Free!".
    7. Press OK and enjoy!

I just reread my post and noticed its a typo it should say menu button not setup button. Sorry

Right. I thought for a minute you were talking about a PC drive
