the mate monitor is DOA and the guy at sumnung service told him we have to give you a rebuild monitor as samsung do not make anymore LCD monitors and can not supply you with a new replacment.......go figure, thats all I know

He may have meant that they don't make that monitor anymore, as they seem to be updating most of the models.
I'll let you know what happens with my order.

mango, that's your opinion, and you have every right to it, but there's no need to be calling me a fool. I'm just trying to answer a question for typan.
I have 3 samsung LCD monitors at home & I only had to send one back for warranty replacment as it had some software problems with the FW, but for me the service was secound to none buy suppling me with a new monitor in 7 days turn a round, so why is my mate having problems, do not know??
