For the XXL the problem is it can't run a V8 NC kernel.
However, you can try to edit te reskin file before the first start and set it to 36-XL for a test.
By the way, the link is fixed now

    Hi Downunder
I think that we can better thank YOU. You did a great job. By the way, it was possible for me know to download the full backup.
For so far I can confirm that this version works on following Devices in Holland:

    GO300, GO500, GO910; GO940 Live, GO710, GO720, GO730, de ONE XL IQ routes en de TomTomOne V1, V2, V3, V4.
The GO750 keeps on having problems. This one better can use the original Navcore and patch it with yDGpatch.

XXL classic allso having some problems.

I have found out that most of the problems occur while skin is not okay. So I made a textfile for solutions of that problem:

This Navcore does not work on devices with bootloader version 1.xxx

For choosing the emulation of your device, do the following:

    1) Connect your TomTom with the computer.
    2) Open TomTom with Windows Explorer.
    3) Open Map 'Skins'
    4) Open File 'reskin' with notepad.
    5) Delete all text in there

    The following emulations are possible.
Now just copy and Paste following below for your type of device.

    slf-Self;slf-Self (standard device mode)
    17-RIDER;17-RIDER (For Rider devices)
    18-GO x20;18-GO x20 (For X20 devices)
    24-GO x40;24-GO x40 (For X40 devices)
    25-GO x30;25-GO x30 (For X30 devices)
    34-ONE;34-ONE (For One devices)
    35-XL;35-XL (For XL devices)
36-XL LIVE;36-XL LIVE (For XL Live devices)
    37-GO X50;37-GO X50 (For X50 devices)
    39-START;39-START (For Start devices)

Now Save File. (do not Save As)

I did mention this before Downunder but you must have missed my post. When I did the first update using TomTom Home it said it wanted to download a file which I accepted. I now notice in Explorer that the 9.450 has changed to 9.400
It still works ok but wondered if that would be a problem?

I for my stuff give a rats a... about Home
To prevent Home from updating you must copy the content of the ttgo.bif into two new files:
ttgo.bak and ttgo.ori - both files are identical to your ttgo.bif except that you change the values for the Navcore to the version that runs officially on your device.

Downunder, thank YOU most of all for coming back here. Thank you for continuing to help everyone. You are the reason many of us, including myself, have learned so much about TomToms and in return try and help others.

Mate, you deserve the biggest THANK YOU of all!

Have this setup on a Tomtom One XL 32mb. The setup suddenly decided to stuff up on my parents whilst they were away on holidays last week. The tomtom would take over 1 hour to lock onto the signal and then one day it would boot to the first startup screen after reading the memory card and just hang. I had to reformat the memory card and reinstall the software from a working backup I had. Reload the new maps, cameras and favourites backup to the same new SD memory card I am using (Sandisk 4gb class 4). To get the TomTom back up and working.

No idea why this suddenly happened. When everything was working fine without a problem to start with.

It can happen for example when the TT is trying to write on the card while at the same time the system is trying to write to the swap file.
Only head of this problem once making you the second
With the prices these days it makes sense to have an untouched backup somewhere in the glove box even if the quick fix data is old it will work after it got a lock

    ^ ^ ^ ^

Agree the download all parts link is broken. However the links to downloading the two separate files part1 and part2 still work. From the link in the first post. So give that a try.

I'm currently downloading the separate parts and will upload them to the Austech Filebox.... no confusing links to worry about then.

One file seems to be just the navcore and the other (bu) is the full backup.... is that correct DU?

    The upload is painfully slow.

    Yeah, yeah, ok

I downloaded it anyway. And it looks like a full backup of 'someones' GPS.

I notice that there are a selection of voices - so i assume the voices are in English?

So am i right to assume that if i pop the whole thing into my TT1XL and run Fast Activate it will work?

Don't want to start another post for simple thing - but as for the voices - is there a program that you can test the voices by clicking on the voice number on the PC?

Others have said it runs fine on 1XL.

Yes, the voices are all English language, but a mix of different nationalities.

To test without installing the whole navcore or backup.... just copy the voices into your TT voices folder and run fastactivate.

Then you can test them, as would normally test/select voices on your device.
