Default Which are the best quality inverters and panels, then what about warranty?

I've been reading about these things. Which are the better inverters and panels? SMA, Fronius/Sunpower inverters seem ok. I'm still unsure on panels.
The other issue is suppliers. They all offer warranty but when they go broke....
I live in NE Vic so any recommendations and of course the have to supply good products?

    Cheers,
    Leroy

First of all, are we talking
    Grid connect
    or Stand alone?
    Self install
or Gov't rebate with supplier or Tech install?
    Cheers, Tiny

The rebates are still there. Where does it say they are going? They are only being reduced and of course the cost of equipment is always coming down. My motivation is the Vic feed in tarrif as there is talk that it might reduced soon.

    Hi Leroy ,

Most important thing to do with all the absolute rubbish out there being offered by solar companies as the best !
Only look at Panels and inverters that have proper distribution and support arms , offices here in Australia.
Suntech have a big rep and also have an Australian base meaning warranty is still honored once the solar company goes out of business , all but a few will be gone eventually.
SMA inverters have a big Australian presence as they have all over the world , the backup service is first class.

There is a lot of cheaper stuff out there , some much cheaper most of it sold by people with only their financial interests at heart.
Look for an installer close to you , then google their name for feedback , some of the sharpest looking companies have been industry nightmares.

In Australia The biggest and major supplier is Solar Juice they supply most people around Australia and they are pumping them out like no tommrow They are based in NSW.

in deciding panels always look at the effeciency the higher the rating the better & Monocrystalline panels.

inverters well sma are the best but you cannot right off JFY either at a fraction of the cost. pretty well spec'd

downside 90% of these installer will collaspe within 6 to 8 months from now.

as long as they by from a major importer you should still have warranty on the panels and inverters
