    Default Skitter TV

I had a play around with this yesterday on my WD Live Tv receiver.

In basic terms, Skitter TV is going to be re transmitting US FTA channels via internet. Due to licencing and copyright etc, you must live in a particular area to receive particular services, much like VAST in Australia.

They have run in to problems with the major networks such as CBC, ABC, NBC, FOX etc and have removed their channels while an agreement is being reached. In the meantime they are running a reduced service of 12 channels, a lot of which are crap like religious channels. Retro TV and CW are realisitcally the only 2 of any interest as it stands.

I signed up using a Portland , Oregon address and phone number (extracted from a Google search of houses for sale) and a US pre paid credit card to have a look. As it stands, its not very exciting for $6 a month, but when the commercial networks come back it will be $12 a month.

If you are one of those people that keenly watches US TV series, having access to live US TV might interest you. I have sent them an email asking when the networks are likely to return and will post it up when I hear back from them.
