Try this link on instructions, not sure if it is exact same unit....
20 seconds sounds too long as most hot water units switch off straight away or up to 5 seconds max.
I have a Bosch WR250-1B instant gas hot water service on my boat, The question I have is is it normal for the burner to continue burning for around 20 seconds after the water has turned off or should the flame go out as soon as the water is shut off. It has battery ignition.
Any gas techs here Thanks

Thats definitely the unit, much appreciated
I am not a tech but I would think being LPG, even tho the water/Gas tap are closed, there woulld be a few moments of Gas left in the pipe to burn.
I have a RedRock brand unit and I take it yours turns ON (ignites) once the water volume passes a certain point then goes off as the water flow is turned Off.
I must say I havent really 'Timed' it but I have the impression that as I turn the water off as quickly as I can, the flame goes out almost immediately the water flow has stopped.
This unit has a loud distinct 'Click' when it starts and stops which I take is the water driven Gas control opening and closing the Gas valve.
If your in any way worried, I would get it serviced as those units work great and are built with safety in mind but things can and do go wrong unfortunately with diasterous results.
And being on a boat (salt or freshwater) would make me more cautious too.
I have never seen inside of one or have a clue how the waterflow control works the Gas valve but if its mechanical, its possible theres corrosion there or even a Creepy Crawly or 2 residing in there.

I have been doing some more reading and it seems it should go out within 2 seconds and could be caused by a clogged inlet filter so will take a look there later today, if all else fails, I will take it to a specialist
Thanks guys
just an update, I changed the microswitch, then pulled the guts of the thing apart and found a diaphragm that turns the gas on and off, this is operated from a plunger, this plunger was seized so I removed and cleaned and polished and reseated plunger and its working like a charm.
Thanks all for your help
Great result and thanks for the followup.
