    Default latest Aus Maps not working with Tom Tom v8

    Hi all,

    I had updated by Tom Tom one to the latest Aus maps version 705.1485 and had them working fine with v7 software on my tom tom one... I just now hooked it up to the tomtom home software which updated the software on my tomtom to version 8.

    The maps no longer work, it just says 'you can't use this map on this device'.

    I tried re-patching the ttsystem file and recopying the new map over but it won't let you use them.

    Bastard... is anyone else aware of this or how to get around it? New patch or something?

    Default Newbie Needs Help

    Help .... I am absolutely new to this and haven't got a clue about what I am doing. I have read previous threads on cracking maps etc. and have followed the instructions and everything worked ok. However when I tried to use the maps on my tomtom I also got the map not working in this device message.

    I have a tomtom one xl and v8 of navcore.

    Any help will be greatfully accepted.

    Navcore is like an operating system. It is available for free update in tomtom home. You could get a blank sd card, put it into your tomtom and update your tomtom from tomtom home, add your original map and it should work.
    Alternatively download navcore basicpack and ttsystem and add other choices from

    I had the same problem once I updated to navcore v8 The maps wouldn't work,, But I could get the lastest maps 720.1868 to work with the old navcore 7.162

    I got the goodies from the above link ^

    Is it worth updating the navcore ?
    has someone got it going and find it better ?

    There is 3.6MB free of ram with the v8 navcore
    There is 6.8MB free of ram with the v7 navcore

    New stuff in the menu's are

    Music and Media
    TomTom Jukebox

    Change Car symbol

    I don't know if the jukebox will work on the 1xl. But if you load the media center you can play movies for your passenger.
    The tts (text to speech) is pretty cool. A computer voice reads the name of the street as you turn into them.

    I used the navcore 8.011 basicpack, tts and media center and still have 9.5Mb free ram.

    i haven't tried this yet but had a look at the files. ttsystem used to be a single file but now there is a folder that contains ttsystem. are we supposed to copy all folder contents on the sd card? not only ttsystem file?

    Yes you do need to copy all files from......
    navcore_SE_8.010.9369_basicpack and SE_ttsystem.8.010.9369

    after you use the keygen for your 720 map it should all work fine
    I have a ONE XL Mapshare works ok on it which is what i wanted most.

    I am having a hard time with the english in the ipmart site and cant work out how to get the voice thing working can anyone maybe help with instructions on how they did it?

    Just to let everybody know, you need to repatch your serial number into the v7 maps using the new v8 keygen.

    it says on the top "You need to create new .dct with new Keygen or nothing work!!" What does this mean?

    and what about this "If Voice Input (ASR) is not available then copy this File to ASR Folder." what does it mean "not available"? did you guys download the ASR folder and put it on the SD root? then this file into the ASR folder?

    ASR is auto speech recognition. We can't use that on the one xl, you neen a mic.
    To get tts to work you need to download a few files. Working LoquendoTTS, Kate, wait I copied the intruction I used somewhere. Please see next post.

    Step by step installation procedure of
    Navcore 8.011.9373, LoquendoTTS, Human Voices and map v7.xx
    for Tomtom One XL - using Windows XP:

    Step 1. Backup your original installation either by using Tomtom Home or
    by copying the files from your device to your PC.
    I prepare the latter but take note to set your Windows XP
    Explorer to 'expert mode', where you can see the folders and files
    system and hidden attributes (refer to Windows XP Help).

    Step 2. For an existing sd-card or internal memory card, delete everything except
    the folders you want to keep (Map, Voices, Sounds, mp3, Text, Video,
    SDKRegistry, ephem, art and games folders,etc).

    Step 3. Download the necessary files, (navcore basicpack, se_ttsystem, ASR
    Advanced_Easyusetools_for_Keygen_Mapcheck_Metachec k_ttsystempatcher.rar) from

    Maps

    Working LoquendoTTS

    Media Center thread

    Step 4. Unrar/Unzip Advanced_Easyusetools_for_Keygen_Mapcheck_Metachec k_ttsystempatcher.rar
    to your C:\ drive or any folder in your hard drive as long as the folder name is
    alpha-numeric (ie. Aa thru Zz and 0 thru 9 and spaces not allowed).

    Step 5. Unrar/Unzip navcore_SE_8.010.9369_basicpack and copy to the root of sd-card the following:

    YOU NEED TO OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES.

    Folders: bin, ephem, gns, LoquendoTTS, mp3, sounds, text
    Files:

    @TTuser 0 2008.4.28 17:56.28

    Step 6. Unrar/Unzip SE_ttsystem.8.011.9373.rar and copy to the root of sd-card

    YOU NEED TO OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES.

    Folders: Outsourced.bin, SdkRegistry, SdkRegistry2
    Files:
    changedtext.txt 19 2008.7.2 21:24.22
    model.txt 2 2008.7.2 18:48.26
    rebootalone 0 2008.6.30 22:23.26
    switch 1505 2008.7.2 16:39.54

    readme.txt 1617 2008.7.4 23:46.18

    The last two files NEED NOT BE in your device.

    Step 6. If you already have your map installed or if not copy your map to your sd-card.
    You should have it in you map default folder or any map folder name of your choice.
    While your device or sd-card reader connected to your PC, go to your
    Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck folder and 2x-click RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd
    file (see below the prompt)

    Enter 1 or 2 for your Choice, Standard is 1

    1. Run it for Navcore 8.010 and higher
    2. Run it for Navcore 7 up to 8.002

    1-2 :

    choose 1 and you will be prompted with

    Available Drives:
    C:\
    D:\
    E:\
    J:\
    Enter Driveletter of TT Devicestorage :

    If received NO ERROR, then all is okay, if error received, check the meta.txt
    if your map is included, if not you need to obtain meta for your map.

    Step 7. LoquendoTTS installation

    Unzip the files to your LoquendoTTS folder.

    Example of working 'big Kate v6.9.1'

    Step 8. Media Center installation

    Install the original demo software to your PC (once finished exit - do not run the application yet)
    then the registered version. Once finished run the application and with your device plugged into
    your PC, go to Tools tab and click Install Media Software.

    Step 9. Installation finished. Now depending on your requirement and location,
    You may or may not need all the switches.

    a. if you need to use LoquendoTTS and SDKregistry applications ONLY, edit model.txt and
    type the word onettssdk, then save and exit. You DO NOT NEED these files
    model.txt 2 2008.7.2 18:48.26
    rebootalone 0 2008.6.30 22:23.26
    switch 1505 2008.7.2 16:39.54
    and SDKRegistry2 folder

    b. If you wanna play around with the switches, leave the installation intact and find
    out what works best to suit your needs.

    c. Best to read the readme.txt that came with it.

    Default How i got nav8 with aus720 map working on tomtom one xl

    i will give the info from adam a try tonight

    Ok about the dct file the keygens will create that for you so dont worry to much.

    EDITED
    This is how i got the australia 720 map working with navcore 810 on My Tomtom 0ne xl
    I used windows vista to do all this

    Find Australia_720_1838 this is the latest map for Australia at this time

    Next you will need..............
    navcore_SE_8.010.9369_basicpack.rar
    this is the navcore8 basic it will not have any local files you can put the extras you need back in later.
    SE_ttsystem.8.010.9369.rar
    this is the patch created that allows the cracked maps to work
    Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher.rar

    look for them here

    FIRST you will need your device id it can be found in your tomtom just touch the screen where you see you clock you will see a tiny marker showing your software version touch that and you will then see the device write that 10 digit id down you will need it later.

    AS USUAL BACK UP YOUR SD CARD MAKING SURE YOU HAVE SELECTED SHOW HIDDEN FILES IN WINDOWS EXPLORER OR SOME NEEDED FILES WILL NOT BE COPIED THEN FORMAT OR BETTER STILL HAVE A SECOND SD CARD READY.

    Copy to the root of your new sd card the Australia map folder then the contents of navcore_SE_8.010.9369_basicpack.rar then the SE_ttsystem.8.010.9369.rar contents last In that order.

    next open the Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher folder you will find RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd open that and follow the instructions it is here you will need the device id make sure you type it in caps with no spaces.

    TRY REBOOTING YOUR TOMTOM NOW IF YOU DID THE FIRST PART RIGHT YOU WILL GET A MESSAGE SAYING YOU HAVE NO VOICE FILES YOU CAN CLICK ON AND EXPLORE YOUR TOMTOM IT SHOULD SHOW YOU HAVE THE NEW MAP AND NEW NAVCORE INSTALLED

    Once this is done you now need to put you extra folders back on to your sd card you will need raster,sounds,voices,schemes and art.

    your tomtom should now work last of all is the ttgo.bak and the ttgo.bif files first find the ttgo.bak file and open it with note pad
    you will see.

    [TomTomGo]
    DeviceName=TomTom GO
    DeviceVersionHW=GO
    DeviceSerialNumber=
    DeviceUniqueID=
    RamDiskVersion=20080529
    BootLoaderVersion=55010
    LinuxVersion=190943
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=
    ApplicationVersion=

    change it to this

    [TomTomGo]
    DeviceName=TomTom LIMERICK
    DeviceVersionHW=LIMERICK
    DeviceSerialNumber=XXXXXXXXXXXX
    DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX
    RamDiskVersion=20080529
    BootLoaderVersion=55010
    LinuxVersion=190943
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
    ApplicationVersion=9369
    UserLanguage=English UK

    your device id goes where the red x are.
    your device serial goes where the blue x are
    do the same with ttgo.bif

    (this will help tomtomhome see the corect navcore when you conect)

    AGAIN TRY REBOOTING YOUR TOMTOM AND CHECK ALL IS RUNNING OK

    Last extract the switchfiles.zip to the tomtom root folder these help the totmtom work with the formats in the basic.rar package. you now have different choices

    fmon i deleted its an fm wireless thing for other tomtom versions that the ONE XL does not have
    i also deleted poweroff, x20 and ori i kept the xls and the ttsoff file but you can play with these switches too see what you like.

    ttsoff is the switch that turns the speech program on if removed and that is what i do not yet know how to work

    if you follow the instructions i have given you will have a working tomtom one xl with navcore8 and the latest Australia (720)map with working mapshare
    last of all tomtomhome needs its dll file replaced so you can operate your tomtom on your computer downloads will still work though

    thanks alot kingsley. i've just finished doing all you said step by step but all I get is "Problem with map You cannot use this map on this device:Australia"

    I think Tomtom ONE v3 is not compatible with this map or ttsystem (Tomtom ONE XL is).

    I noticed two things 1) when i type [TOMTOM ONE XL] in ttgo files i get above map error message as soon as i turn the machine on. if I type [TOMTOM ONE] then it lets me set the time, choose some settings like km/mile, right hand/left hand, language then gives the same map error message. 2) when i first insert the card in on the right top corner it says "SE version RUN on save RAM Mode XLS emulation no ETS" do you see such a message?

    ok fist of all i did this on my tomtom one xl.

    the SE version Run on save ram message is a feature put into the basic pack it alows the tomtom to clear ram to the sd card so that it has more usable ram i do see that message too.

    but i have got it working with my house mates one v3.
    make sure you placed the files onto the root of the tomtoms sdcard
    first the map folder (make sure the maps not siting in a second folder)
    then the basic files again to the root of your tomtom sdcard
    last the tt_system patch if you dont do it in that order the patch will not overwrite the files it needs to overwite.
    i did notice that the map i downloaded was in a second folder inside itself packed inside the rar try the first three steps then test it in the tomtom if corect you should get a message saying you have no voice files dont extract the switches.zip untill you get the basic working i will edit my above post with this

    [TomTomGo]
    DeviceName=TomTom GO
    DeviceVersionHW=GO
    DeviceSerialNumber=
    DeviceUniqueID=
    RamDiskVersion=20080529
    BootLoaderVersion=55010
    LinuxVersion=190943
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=
    ApplicationVersion=

    change it to this

    [TomTomGo]
    DeviceName=TomTom LIMERICK
    DeviceVersionHW=LIMERICK
    DeviceSerialNumber=XXXXXXXXXXXX
    DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX
    RamDiskVersion=20080529
    BootLoaderVersion=55010
    LinuxVersion=190943
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
    ApplicationVersion=9369
    UserLanguage=English UK

    your device id goes where the red x are.
    your device serial goes where the blue x are
    do the same with ttgo.bif

    Great writeup, i have managed to get navcore 8.010 working with 720.1838 maps as well, different method to yours and did have a problem with home, i must of missed a few steps but before i attempt it again as per your instructions which seem better i couldnt get the new maps to see the speed cameras whereas with navcore 7.161 it could. tried patching etc but not sure if i was doing this right anyway. can you see the speed cameras your way?
