    Default faulty card

I am being told that my card is faulty, even after paying extra to have my box upgraded. Are these cards like any other form of media, where they can become damage?

What can I do if my card is faulty?

How did it become faulty, card was in mediastar box, and was never removed until they stopped working, card seemed burnt.

Is there anybody out there that can point me in the right direction.

When you say upgraded, what do you mean ?

Replace card or reprogram card with software that is newer than what it currently has.

the burn you refer to is normal almost all special cards get this over time.

As for reprogrammed you need to get a seller to upload a new file to the card to make it work again.

Default Rip me off again please Mr Seller...

Hey dude You got ripped off. Stop paying these sellers for "free pay tv"
Or keep your equipment and get a card only subscription from Select TV.
Or go halves in a Fauxstar sub with a friend.

what version card is it ie 4.1 or 5.3

if 4.1 then its not faulty just needs to be reprogrammed. if 5.3 and not working then perhaps it is faulty. if 5.3 was it working and then stopped or never worked?

    @jveliss,
When did it stop working? In the last couple of weeks? Or was it a couple of months ago? If it was recently, then the card is probably still OK, but the Mediastar may not work with them any longer. I heard these boxes were the same as the Arion's. If you have a friend with a similar setup, but a different STB, try your card in their box to see if it gets pictures. You may just need to get yourself a supernet or something similar.....

    Cheers....

    thanks for the advice Gypsy,
1 card doesnt work in a Mediastar, but it works in a Supernet
another card which doesnt seem to work in either box, comes up "scrambled"
I paid $60 to get mediastar upgraded, but it only worked for 3 or 4 days, not sure exactly what I got for $60 except waste of time and petrol etc, lol.

What do they upgrade, firmware ? Who knows.

Cards started having problems about 2 months ago. Since then cards have been doing trips back and forth.

Anyone know how broken card can be fixed ?

Tell your seller that you want a new card because its still under warranty as its less than 1 year old. If he doesn't want to exchange it then call A current Affair

Yeah its only a firmware upgrade . If the file is available yet (ah la Strong) you should be able to do it yourself.
