Love it,I go there at least once a year.Took a friend there once,he was surprised to see the experimental s that he'd worked on as a young man at GMH
Dash.
I saw my dream car there. HR with a V8!! It's in the pics!

That first lot of pictures reminds me of when i was little and started tinkering fixing dads mates cars (with him), they certainly made them simple back in those days.
Love an upside down Holden!

my pics are ok i just turned the monitor upside down
The first post, third picture is a oil bath air cleaner.
I remember having to take the cleaner assemblies off to empty, wipe them and put new oil in.
Todays generation wouldn't get the principal of how it worked into their heads, they only understand KN filters..
That is a 138 in^2 in a FJ holden!! My granddad had one, I remember it well.
The Ute in the last series of pics is a concept car on loan form HSV. had 369 km on the clock and a 6.2 L engine
there was also, on loan from GMH, the 1,000,000th car, and EJ and the 2,000,000th a HK Broughman made by holden

He he brings back memories of seeing the HK Brougham changing into second gear at 80 mph on the speedo
i love the holden museum , and the Ford Discovery centre in geelong . cars and life were so simple back then.
i think holdens were great till they jumped into bed with Opel and dumped crap like the Camira on our shores.
If you want to see the Ford Discovery Centre in Geelong you'd better hurry up - it closes this month! Very Sad...
OMG , there is heaps to see in there GZ , stuff dating back to model T , interactive displays , cutaways , mockups , everything. 2 story building.
shame to see it close.

Actually agree with you there. Totally amazed to see a Camira in the parking lot last weekiend when family went shopping - as got me thinking of the logisitics required of a functioning camira
Similar topic - anyone been to the motor museum at Birdwood, SA (assuming it still operates) Haven't been there for years.

Good to see people still love the old cars. I have a 1961 EK holden special in my shed that I will be restoring over the next year or so, has the old 138 grey with crash box (3 on the tree). After 50 years it still fires up. Is funny looking under the bonnet thou, had a young mate who owns a supra look under there and couldnt believe what he saw. Have been buying up some nasco accessories for it lately, my most recent purchase was a brake booster for its 4 wheel drum brakes lol. Will post some pics up when i have acces to my other pc with the pics on it.
Stop being so stupid.. it’s my turn!!
