    Try this:
    • create a bmp file (as RGB, 24 bits) with the same resolution as your device
    • save it as logo.bmp in the root of the SD card
    • copy it also as 912c.img, (again, in the root of the SD card)
    • put the SD card in the device and reboot it (or simply turn it on if it was off), it should show a blue screen and telling it's loading the new image
    • once done, remove those files from the root of the SD card, otherwise it will change the image at every boot.

Oh well, with my device it worked with a fat32 partition, maybe it depends on the size of the card and/or the version of the firmware.

Wink Issues with changing splash screen

I have finally managed to conquer this problem myself!

After creating a 24bit bmp file of my image at my screen resolution 800 x 480 I named the file logo as suggested.

The next step did not work with my device
"copy it also as 912c.img, (again, in the root of the SD card)"

I actually had to create a 0kb 912c.img file using the cmd function in windows 7. you can do this with the following command:

    fsutil file createnew [name_of_file.extension][size_in_bytes]

in this case fsutil file createnew 912c.img 0

the file is saved by default in C:\Windows\system32

I then copied both files to the root of my microsd card, and the image was loaded onto my GPS.

Hope this helps if anyone has the same problems I did!

Hi, I just tried this with my Chinese GPS tablet and got this when turning it on with the SD card installed and the logo.bmp and 912c.img files on it

It then booted up as normal, so I powered it off, took out the SD card and turned back on. But the Chinese cartoon girl was still there.

I've tried doing it with the 0kb img file like on this page, and I've tried doing it both on FAT32 and FAT16 but no joy. Any ideas?
