just did that... no go... and it gets stuck downloading the file when i press yellow.. i left it for 20 min... the bar still wont get full... and only option press red to cancel... must be my box.. if everyonelses works

it takes 40 mins with a local server and longer when running to oztivo
set debug = 3
set it to cron in middle of the night and forget it
if still doesnt work post your /tmp/getrt.log here

anyone got this up and running on a DM500? I tried it but got annoyed quickly. I find it annoying with the lack of guide, esp on SBS
Have you read his howto? Worked for me and Pli team who put up his Ppanel to make it even easier for you, in your Pli downloads (as shown above).
Are you pissed with SBS for the lack of EPG or him for giving it to you and you can not get it going? Sorry I am a tad confused with your post above.

Works great for me on a DM500 allstarnz. Initially used a PC as the epg storage area, and now use a DM7000 as the "server", and the DM500 as a "client", using nfnovices latest script.
So once again, great work nfnovice.
Only very minor problem I have is that I can't seem to get a channel list for the ABC or SBS on the Foxtel channels, but they work fine for all ABC's and SBS's on Aurora. Is it possible to double map channels???? ie Aurora ABC and Foxtel ABC use the same epg information?

Funny you ask about the ABC and SBS issue between F0xtel and Aurora - how did you know I was wrestling with this over the last few days.
I have found that using channel mapping under EPG plugin - you can map them to one or the other - but not both - bugger
My next move is to try manually editting the channel map file oztivo_au.dat see if I can put both in their - will keep you updated ...
Sorry you took it me as being ungrateful. I tried it, it didn't work as I liked, so I put it on the backburner till I had more patience. Just wanted to see that others had it working on my box model before resuming.
My complaint was at the lack of SBS EPG. After seeing the rather shambolic implementation of digital TV in Australia (EPG, picture formats etc), i'm glad New Zealand went down the 'Freeview and Freeview|HD' path. 7 day EPG over DVB-S for all channels, and if you can read MHEG5, the same for DVB-T.
I'll give it another go this week. Thanks for the tips guys.

I expected as much - because it is a one to one relationship
hits SBS-WA - looks for the first matching entry oztivo_au.dat and loads to that - therefore will never find the second listed one in oztivo_au,.dat...
(thinking out loud here)
so if you had a second copy of oztivo_au running which :-
- had a different .dat file
- only had mapped the other channels of the duplicates you wanted
- was set to not learn any new channels (optional)
- was cron to run off the local server (optional)
you could load the 2nd copy of the channels on a second run through
like have one for F0xtel and one for aurora
its doable with no changes except file renames and config .txt and .cfg changes - no changes to script

i have a dm500 and have setup the script from a new pli iolite install as described in the document nfnovice wrote up.
The epgcache folder on my external share is being populated and an epg.db generated. I have also gone in and pressed the yellow button and mapped channels.
When i now press the red button to bring up the epg guide nothing is displayed.
any ideas??
Or does someone have a base pli iolite image with the oztivo already working that i could test with?

it should not overwrite anything from previously just add new stuff if it is available and you have it mappedGood now

you need to run the script again after the mapping process
might pay to clean out your cache directory - just so it does not ignore those downloads.
set it to run with cron - then post your /tmp/getrt.log
note make sure you remove your username and password from the log before you post it
