Question go 730 not bluetooth pairing mobile

Always been flakey with mobile phones (3 over time) since I got the unit ages ago.

In the past had to regularly insert the backup sdcard, run off that and it would pick phone up. Then extract sdcard and run off internal memory.

Now wont pick up any bluetooth phone. With or without sdcard.

Recently updated to App 9.4930.890926.1 - BOOT IS 5.5237 AND updated map is Aust 880.3811.

Is this a problem with updated Navcore or am I totally out of whack here?

    TIA

    James

    Impossible to say...
I guess you mean the 9.430 NC as there is no 9.4930.
First thing I would do is actually check if the phone is supported by TT or not.
Maybe check with a phone that's know to work like an older Nokia.
And if by phone you mean one of the new smartphones based on Android or some Apple junk I'm almost certain the problem is the phone and not the TT.

    Thanks D35m,

Current phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace which had bluetooth working on and off until recently. Even tried old Telstra T100 phone which is used when we go bush .

Both have been paired with the 730 in the past. I dug out an old Nokia which had been paired with the 730 also. Tried that and it would not pair, same as the other 2 phones. The phones see each other but not the GO.

The TomTom bluetooth preferences menu - Connect to bluetooth device button, when pushed comes up with Nothing found.

I think the problem is with the TomTom and may be software related. Will keep trying. Anyone have similar problem in past?

I think the Galaxy might not work as they often use incompatible protocols, TT only uses a very basic protocol which explains why many features won't work on most phones like reading messages for example.
Since the Nokia was paired before I would stick with that for further tests.
It's just a guess, but since the protocols are slightly different in the new NC's you might want to try the good old 8.351NC and check if BT works with that.
In case it does there might be chance that we can transfer the necessary files over to the new NC.
Other thing to try is a hard reset folled by 3x the TT clear flash tool - quite often some junk in the persistent memory is to blame. And no you won't loose any data!

Tried the hard reset after googling. No luck and not sure about the 3x TT clear flash tool so will look into that.

Also need to look into how to revert to good old 8.351 NC. From memory that did work. Same old story, if it aint broke don't fix it eh.

Thks again, will post how I get on.

    What EXE?
A simply filecheck on your device would confirm that the CAB has to be unpacked to the root of your device.
And if I'm not completely mistaken there are also tutorials for NC installation available, pretty hard to miss

Woops, no stress but I think I am a bit simple. Again no drama, I did download to root of device after last post (before yours), backing up via win explorer. Go 730 is now looking for another (older) aussie map.

Thanks for all your help, will sort myself - just being lazy and sponging a bit as one does when age becomes relevant.

Going away Meekatharra-ish WA on Wed for a month chasing the yellow stuff. Will post if I have success with GO which does not like going bush although it does track reasonably well on main highways. Still I have oziexplorer /hema /google maps on lappy with usb gps which means will not get lost.

    Cheers

Having backup on such trips is always best - and good luck!
If you still have the time (or when you're back) we can work on getting the BT stuff from the 8.351 working on the new NC
