    Default Electricity Project

I am wondering about what to do as a school project with my 11year old, any ideas?

    Hey thats pretty cool !

I did a project on calculating average speed and motion with my son years ago for physics.

We built a 6 inch rocket out of balsa wood and bored out the bottom to fit a co gas bottle like the ones used in soda water makers for the engine.

A long piece of fishing string was tied between goal posts for the full lenght of the football field.

2 Hooks screwed into the rocket. Rocket hooked onto fishing wire.

Puncture a hole in the co bottle and watch her fly.

    Lots of fun!

    Damm fast.

    OK you want a project

On my pile of "to do list" is this one.
Get a old DVD burner out of a computer and
strip it down and get the laser out of it.
And then mount it in to some sought of optical device
to narrow the laser beam down so it burns/melts things.
And with this you go to the shops where they have amusement machines,
and you know the machine where they have the prizes (like DS Lites, cameras....)
hanging up by some fishing line inside a glass cabinet

And the rest I will leave up to your imagination

It has to be simple so my daughter can do most of it by her self under my supervision. She wont learn anything if I make a laser canon as some may suggest LOL

The club site is cool but maybe a bit advanced for primary school the second one I was on that earlier they have some cool ideas but it's mostly a guide to teachers as to what to set as a project rather than how to do it although there is a bit of how to.
