    Default Wtb: DVB-T PVR

Seeing as though Geraldton is finally getting Commercial Digital TV, I'm looking to get a PVR.
With so many on the market, it's hard to choose a unit.
The PVR must be dual tuner minimum, internal HDD, be able to stream videos off my NAS and work with Logitech Harmony remotes.
    Sugestions please

    hi mate

I've used various model Beyonwiz PVRs for a few years, they're pretty solid performers as far as recording FTA is concerned, dual-tuners, internal HDD, wireless and can stream music/videos/photos off my Synology NAS.

The firmware is a bit dated, sometimes has problems when used as a media playing playing the newer MKV files but overall not a bad unit, and 2nd hand ones are pretty easy to pick up at a good price.

As Macca suggested Beyonwiz (I have a DP P2 - very satisfied) are good stuff but they aren't cheap. Never tried Humax and Topfield used to be good but I haven't had one for a while so can't really comment on them. It's really down to how much you want to spend, lots of options out there.

I just grabbed one of these from , not a bad deal at $169.00
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

    Thanks everyone for the input

I've been looking at the Beyonwiz DP P2 for a while now, and just recently the VU+ Ultimo Triple due to the rave reviews on Austech.

I'll try the Beyonwiz first as I've found a second hand unit at a good price. Failing that, the Ultimo is the next choice.

Also, no Aldi stores in outback WA

What about the new Strong SRT7000? They're around the $400 mark. The specs look good wrt to the multimedia capabilities.

I went the el cheapo route and used a spare Highlander Digital STB with an 89GB portable HDD attached to the USB port, used the EPG to record the opening of the Olympic Games and missed the last 40 minutes because they overran to allotted time didn't they?
Recorded ok but once seen its wiped clean for another day.
The only reason I recorded it was because I wasn't getting up at hour for anything.

My Beyonwiz DP P2 from eBay arrived today. Not a bad unit from what I've played with so far.
Much easier to stream off the NAS than an Astone AP-360T and it remembers which directory was last used. Bonus

Only thing I don't like is the bright "blue circle of fire". Lucky I've found a mod on how to dim it down.
