Guide to adding FM / AM and other internet radio stations to VU+/Dreambox/enigma2

Below is a brief guide showing how to add FM / AM / Local and International Radio stations to VU+, Dreambox 800 and other Enigma 2 satellite receivers.

The new stations will appear in channel lists with other satellite radio stations.
List below adds Radio Nova, Classic Hits 4FM, Today FM, Dublins 98fm, SpinFM, LMFM, Highland RADIO ,Limerick Live 95, Ocean FM, Clare FM.

Internet connection required as these new stations are received via internet streams.
Your favoriate FTP is required and latest image installed on your satellite receiver. It's been tested with latest Vix on Vu+duo Version 2.4 and Latest Openpli image on Dreambox 800HD.

1. Open FTP program and connect to your receiver.
2. FTP to Var/etc/enigma2
3. Scroll down to userbouquet radio
4. Click on userbouquet radio and then rightclick and select edit.
5. scroll down to bottom of list and paste the list below into bouquet.
6. click save and exit.
7. Restart enigma.

When receiver restarts go to bouquet where you pasted list below and new radio stations should now be listed in bouquet. In this example stations appear in radio bouquet. Select your station and enjoy!

You can create a new radio bouquet for streams only, to separate them from sat radio stations.

Create a new file called userbouquet.dbe00.radio. At the top of the file type #NAME Streaming Radio

After that enter the above radio stations and then restart enigma. You'll see "Streaming Radio" in your favourites.

One thing i've noticed.

When making a new userbouqet for the Radio Stations.
It played up with IDreamX (for those using Macs), would not let IDreamX load Bouquets
When i removed that new userbouquet, it loaded and worked as normal.

I noticed that with dreamboxedit on windows as well.

It downloads and uploads but with errors only with the streams. On the upload it wipes the stream bouquet out. I also have one for streaming TV.

So you need to keep a copy on your local pc and ftp it back over.

It probably won't be long before dreamboxedit and similar apps cater for the streaming format in the bouquets.

Ofcourse, the problem doesn't exist if you just edit an existing bouquet, you can pic any.
So in saying that, perhaps you could make an empty bouquet using the remote control or FTP proggy....
Then add the stations later??
Perhaps it is because they can not be linked to a provider and sat??

I think you're right. I just made a post over at i-have-a-dreambox.com in the dreamboxedit section to see if it's possible to implement the streaming format into the app.

Might be the case, as when added to existing favourites bouquet, they are not highlighted until pressed, then all of then are highlighted. I believe this behaviour is different with some images.

Thanks for the tip regarding radio streams

I'm running a Vu+Duo under Vix and I've found that only the http streams work for me. The m3u and asx streams fail to produce...
This is the case for Vix 2.4.213 and also Vix 3.0.204.

Which build of Vix 2.4 did you use and did you install any additional modules to support these streams that are not working for me?...

Just letting people know that the latest build of dreamboxedit is now fully compatible with IPTV. You can add them individually using the app but I found it easier to just add them to a new bouquet file in bulk.
