The Vinasat1 Ku beam does not cover Australia.
It's focused primarily on Vietnam and Thailand with a little coverage into the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, but doesn't come anywhere near Australia.
Hi, i got 2.4m C-dish on vinasat with VTV channels (3413 V) and HTVC channels (3433 V), can someone explain why i can't detect other channels listed on lyngsat ()??
i can see there are many more vietnamese channels listed on that page but i can't detect/scan to receive those?
*oh i see they are Ku Band Horizontal receptions, is it possible to get those channels using a Ku dish from sydney?? e.g..11090 H / 28125 channels?.?

By looking at lyngsat how can i tell wat channels are covered i australia? Or is there another site that shows coverage of sats?

Still unlikely.
The beam is pointing in the opposite direction.
That's a great price for that dish though.
It would cost as much again to remove, transport and reinstall it.
But even if you could afford it and obtain council permits to have it in a residential area... I still doubt it would work, but you're welcome to prove me wrong.
BTW, it was used primarily as an uplink to D1.

If you go to lyngsat on any particular satellite, it'll tell you the signal strength to be expected in your area (based on the geolocation of your IP address).
Vinasat will say zero.
But then again, I'm about 700 km outside of the measat3 Ku footprint (with Lynsat saying 0 signal), and still able to receive (poorly) with a 75 cm offset dis!
going 1.5m solid offset of 7.5 ft prime focus mesh gives me usable signal!
You're comparing apples with oranges.
Lyngsat is not reliable in many ways, as you've discovered.
But Lyngsat, and any other footprint avalable, such as will all indicate 0 signal for Vinasat 1 Ku in Australia... because there is NO beam that comes anywhere near it.
It has nothing to do with what you can receive from measat3 wherever you are located, but I understand you're just giving an example of Lyngsat inaccuracies, but in this case, Lyngsat is 100% correct.
