Well after watching it, that was about as 'BLUE' as a Disney Movie.

I dont know, there was a lot of 'Blue' background and remember River Song was bashing on about all her 'Husbands', none of whom she seemed to have officially separated from and then deep tonguing that young bloke who had his head stuck on that Robot at the end.
I dont know if by hiring a Surgeon and expressing the desire to terminate her 'relationship' with the Dictator by severing his head to retrieve that diamond embedded in it could be seen as a bit 'Blue' or not.

I must be getting old as I cant say I have enjoyed many if any of the current series, including the 'Xmas Special', except for the Graphics and the Theme..........

Yeah I'm with you there Gordon, as 'Xmas Specials' go I think they dropped the ball with this one! Hopefully we will get a new companion next season, maybe that will liven things up a little?

I know it won't happen but, I wish they'd worry a little less about writing all their little "clues" into a season-long sub-plot and concentrate on writing better scripts instead... and quit it with these damn multi-part episodes!

I guess I have to re-watch the season finale because I thought the Doctor's sonic sunglasses were destroyed, hence why the TARDIS gave him a new screwdriver at the end. I thought it was odd in the Christmas episode that he used both the sunglasses and the screwdriver, but the internet tells me that the sunglasses were returned to him at some point in the final episode.

No Doctor Who season this year, only a possible Xmas special before season 10 airs in Early to mid 2017.

Read what you like into those comments on who is doing what and wont be doing that again or possibly leaving suggests to me the Show is taking a break because there is no interest in resuming it just yet.
While the general Crew can be found other work, You dont have Cast and writers at least sitting around twiddling their thumbs because they Cost money and 'No Show earns no revenue'.
After 50 years Dr Who can take a 'breather' without the audience forgetting it but like everything, dont push the boundary too far or things can change.

    The Doctors new companion....

Pearl Mackie has been named as the new Doctor Who companion alongside Peter Capaldi's Time Lord in the Tardis.

The Londoner's role was announced on BBC One during half time of the FA Cup semi-final match between Everton and Manchester United.

Mackie, 28, replaces Jenna Coleman, whose character Clara Oswald left the show in 2015.

Filming for the next series of the long-running science fiction show will start this year but air in 2017.

Trying to come up with something 'Different' for each episode even when they only make a few each year must get harder the longer the program has been on air which for Dr Who in now 53 YEARS !!

I would be very surprised to see any show today not use a 'Writers Room' format so that each writer can bounce ideas off each other and take the result to keep the audiences entertained.

I'm guessing that "The Class" is the reason there wasn't any DWs made for the current season?

There may still be a Christmas episode but I haven't heard anything.
