Any date announced for the 50th Anniversary screening yet?

It just doesnt seem like 50 years since I tried to watch this on ABC channel 1 from Orange NSW.
I say 'Tried' as the reception where I was living at the time was very bad and I had to move the antenna to get either the ABC or the commercial channel (CBN8) now part of the Prime Network.
The ABC was the stronger of the two so until I moved, thats the channel we watched.

Some words blended in the end seemed to indicate that

...or maybe it just starts in another time line.
That's the fun for the writers, they can really do what they like. It is all parallel universes, not everything has to fit together or be logical and consequential, only the bits they choose.
So there could be more than one generation(or evolution) of the Doctor that jump into the same time line for a while. Could be an interesting concept.

Hmm, one of these articles must be wrong, unless he is only starring in the first episode or 2

Wonder who will take his place...

The BBC is today announcing that Matt Smith is to leave Doctor Who after four incredible years on the hit BBC One show.

Matt first stepped into the TARDIS in 2010 and will leave the role at the end of this year after starring in the unmissable 50th Anniversary in November and regenerating in the Christmas Special.

Right, November then for 'Part One' and sometime Xmas (here) for 'Part 2' .................
Thats last bit about 'regenerating' is intriguing isnt it.....Does that mean he 'Leaves' in the Anniversary episode but 'Returns' as he never said he was finished with Doctor Who and moving on to other things did he ???

    Sunday 24 November at 7.31PM on ABCTV1.............runs untll 8.50pm......

    The Day of the Doctor

Check youtube too as there have been some other Dr Who related shows that I dont believe have been screened here, such as The Doctor Who Prom which was a 'bridge' from the last Prom and series to the new one starting Sunday Night.

I am guessing thats simultaneously with the broadcast in the UK but what an odd time (50 minutes)
because if I have counted correctly we are 11 hours ahead of the UK and that makes it 7.50pm Saturday night there.

The Saturday night part is right but here I am sure Dr Who screened at 6pm Monday to Thursday nights.

It looks like the BBC is doing a World Wide release before it can be uploaded onto Youtube.

BBC could have something on before it as a 'Taster' that we wont get or its simply as they dont carry ads, thats when previous show finishes.

Depends upon which state you are in, Gordon, South OZ is normally 9.5 hours ahead save daylight saving time so we'd be seeing it at 4:30AM given a 7PM start time or 5:30 in DST on the next morning i.e. Sat in the UK will be Sun in OZ.

Isemmens, I should have been clearer that it was those areas in OZ with DST that are 11 hours ahead of the UK, sorry about that.

NZ is 13 hours, Qld is 10 and WA is 8.
Sometimes I even use my toes when trying to work out the time differences !!!!!

I was only thinking the other day about the time of day J.F.Kennedy was shot and the time it was here.
I work on a 'Rule of Thumb' calculation that Texas is 17 hours behind us, adjusted for DST in both countries if applicable which means when I saw the notice outside a newsagents in King Street Newtown around mid morning on Saturday 23rd (our time) his death had occurred only some 2 hours or so earlier.
We didnt have DST back then.

    Brilliant episode, very well done!

No spoilers for those that haven't seen it yet but haven't they kinda painted themselves into a corner now, I thought a Timelord could only re-generate twelve times?

Ahhhh so but being a Time Lord allows for the control of Time and Space in ways not always clear to the likes of us lesser beings so WHO (pun intended) really knows, ehhhhh???

I was gunna be a smart arse and see if they broadcast the show on ABCWA on VAST taking into account the time disparity (3 hours) but the buggers didnt did they so I will have to wait until tonight.

yes, The Day of the Doctor, was shown in many places all over the world at the same Premier time "simultaneously"

Time shifted television events didn't happen, & that meant that it was shown earlier on QLD, NT, SA, & WA time zones,

The Day Of The Doctor will screen on ABC1 at 6.50am AEDT, 5.50am QLD, 5.20am NT, 6.20am SA, 3.50am WA. (It will also be repeated at 7.30pm. ...... at all local times )

Bloody Timelord Doctor ....... but it is a good episode

I loved it. Just brilliant, I need to make an effort to watch it more often.
The curator nearly brought a tear to my eye, such great memories!
