Like Hoe, My new ROKU turned up today and thanks to everyones work before hand (Sanity and crew) it was about a 15 min setup and I was watching Netflix and Hulu and everything else that is out there.
I have my router sorted, Unblockus tells me everything is working fine, Netflix accepted my genuine CC and HULU accepted the virtual Card I set up It seems I'm now a resident New Castle, Delaware. 19720
So everything seems fine - But I can't watch Disney
I click on the Channel and it advises it can't be watched in my location.
Any one have any ideas
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

Ahhhh The Blues Bros - what a movie
Jake: How are you gonna get the band back together, Mr. Hot Rodder? Those cops have your name, your address...
Elwood: They don't have my address. I falsified my renewal. I put down 1060 West Addison.
Jake: 1060 West Addison? That's Wrigley Field.

Talking briefly about movies, is there a way to utilise the ROKU or other similar products to view those movies we have stored on our PC's or NAS drives. In other words use them like a media player.??

no, the roku is not dnla compliant......
an option is a sony blu ray player, they support netflix etc and the ones for around $200 are dnla compliant....
you can add custom dns settings via the menu, so no need to add settings to your router..
just add the unblockus settings and upgrade the firmware online and away you go....
it's probably a lot better option for some people, as for an extra $100 you get a blu ray player/media player (usb)/network media player and streaming player. They also have hdmi/component/optical audio out.
unless there is a specific roku only service you require....

Thanks Hoe, No I was just hoping to get rid of the Nanotek out of the lounge, kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
What about the Western Digital WDBGXT0NBK currently on offer at Office Works, I can't find anything on DNLA compliant in the WD specs, mind you it's bloody hard to find decent specs full stop

You can use the Roku as a Plex client, obviously setting up some sort of Plex server on your computer or NAS which effectively makes it a media player.
I have the Plex server running on a ReadyNas Pro along with Sick Beard (for downloading tv shows) and Couch Potato (for movies) and it's become my most used channel on the Roku.

Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.
Compatibility: A word soon to be deleted from our dictionaries as it is outdated.
Humans: Entities that are not only outdated but broken... AI-self-learning-update-error...terminate...terminate...
I ordered one and they canceled my order and refunded my money to PayPal without any explanations. Do I need a mail fowarding address?

Thats weird, I have heard of it happening and I was concerned when I ordered mine because when I ordered mine I ordered with the $20.00 Plasma / LCD mounting bracket as well. They accepted my order but the next day emailed me and said they couldn't send the bracket because of location issues. I though "OK, they stuffed up, they meant they couldn't send the ROKU" but as you know the ROKU turned up - but the bracket didn't, so I ordered another one, a Roku I mean, and it's been over two weeks now and I was starting to get concerned but when I checked the online tracking it advises that the unit has arrived in the country so I'm expecting my 2nd one within days - fingers crossed, knowing my luck it will be the bracket that turns up
