Hi finally found a good spot for up to date information based in australia. I am in my late 40s and grew up reading a lot of sci-fi so I expected a lot from our society and technology after we landed on the moon. We didnt get it and only now are we catching up with the promises made in the 60s. Very few of the modern ideas out there are really new just read some of the older books from the 60s. Mobile phones, palm size computers, neural nets, wall size tvs, wired houses etc. All old stuff but now we have the engineering to follow up on the ideas. The future will be interesting.
I am currently interested in setting up a media centre computer to record my foxtel or do I just buy an IQ or Tivvo.

    gday,

as for the technology. A media center for recording foxtel is like an oxymoron for technology. You'd be setting up a digital media centre, then needing to put an analogue tuner card in it to record foxtel.
    Good luck.
