Sure does Al.
If you want a good satellite picture you would be better off subscribing to Foxtels new HD service. Its the only way you will get a picture quality you will appreciate. Otherwise , replace it with a 51 cm Teac because it looks a hell of a lot better on something small
I am currently watching VH1 @ 544 x 576 in 4:3 on a 106 cm LCD and its not overly awe inspiring.
ahh ok, cheers for clearing that up, makes my life a bit more simple now :P
Buy a FTA HD box and have a look at the picture you get. You will be stoked.
Then plug a sat receiver in and have a look and you will cry Unless you subscribe to Foxtels new HD service , but it only has 4 or 5 channels or something so you would have to be keen. Eventually they will no doubt do them all , but as it stands half the channels are in the crap quality I described earlier.
720 x 576 in 16:9 is about the best you will get on some channels ( I just changed to Music Max and thats what it is ) Box Office is the same.

OK Here is a slightly off-topic noob question as well
The TV states its 120Hz....doesn't that mean its for 60Hz power supply [such as 110V in the USA]
My lcd is 100Hz, double the Australian supply of 50Hz and 240V
the rating of 120Hz has nothing to do with the power supply. It is the refresh rate of the screen.
Pal siganls are 50Hz so will display perfect on a 100Hz display (x2). NTSC signals are 60Hz so they display better on a 120Hz tv. That being said a Pal (50Hz) signal will look better on a 120Hz TV than on 50Hz TV. Some people notice the flicker of the 50/60Hz but do not notice it on a 100Hz/120Hz display since it is too fast for the eye to pick up. This last pointing being the main reason for 100/120Hz displays. I wont get into interlacing issues.

By reading this, you have already given me control over a tiny slice of your mind
Only during pixelation :P
I sit 3.5 metres away for the screen. As I see it, no point having a home cinema setup if you don't get the 'real cinema' experience.
Considered getting a 60" plasma but can't justify the downgrade in size.
BTW, the projector is a Panasonic PT-AX100, 1280x720, native 16:9, 3x 0.7" PolySi LCD with a 220W UHM lamp. Fed by YUV from all devices.
mate have you had the "auto iris" changed in your projector yet? mate while it's under warranty (or extended warranty) take it to a authorised service centre for panasonic and tell them it "wont start straight away...takes 3-4 goes to start" , as a large batch of these auto iris's were bung
When I explained to the guy what avatar I wanted, that wasn't what I meant!
