Its a bugger theyd encrypt it - epg works and showd ch10 programming..... Dunno if still active this morning. I have heard that some 4:2:2 Feeds will show encrypted even if they are not - could this be it? - I dont have ANY of my DVB-S / S2 card in a pc at the mo - only a win2k test bed with minimal software installed....
No 4:2:2 there. Look at the encryption, Irdeto.

Yea I know it says IRDETO but have read that providers can flag it as encrypted even if it is not - so will not show up as FTA and also atleast some boxes will show as encrypted if the video is in 4:2:2 chroma.. kinda hopn I guess .. I guess it would be IRDETO 2 not 1 ?????
I have a box that does 4:2:2 and it's not 4:2:2.
Cheers,
Leroy

OSIRUS (18-06-10)
now we have them via terrestrial in kal, my d1 card is redundant.....
we got it in the central wheatbelt from Mawson
be good if we could get one HD as well
All in good time Gentlemen.
There are only 11 more days of June left if they are to complete the Mildura/Sunrasia Analog Switchoff and provide VAST to reach those affected, IF they are staying within their advertised timetable !!!
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Then there's the western part of VAST, which hasn't even been planned yet, let alone channels being assigned.
I reckon GWN and WIN are stuck between two scenarios:
Scenario 1: Offer two different satellite services. One for direct-to-home VAST viewers (a DVB-S2 MPEG-4 platform) as well as another for the transmission sites (a DVB-S MPEG-2 platform) for viewers using their current equipment.
or
Scenario 2: Offer one satellite service (DVB-S2 MPEG-4) for both VAST users and terrestrial retransmission. This means equipment for terrestrial viewers will not work unless it's Freeview approved.
IMO, Scenario 1 is the best, but only possible if there's enough room on Optus D1 to carry all the extra HD and SD channels in the bandwidth-hungry MPEG-2 format.
So, do they and the goverment fork out millions for three-to-four times the amount of satellite space, or fork out millions to subsidise a new set-top box for every single terrestrial viewer in the state? Rock and a hard place, but they better make a decision soon.
Optus, lol. Whether they sell them to the public is another thing...
