You must not be a child of the 60's or 70's.
It's very rare to see these kinds of boards these days.
I can remember when I was a kid finding some of these boards and trying to reverse engineer them wondering what they did. The wires just seemed to go nowhere. Nowdays I think how much that scrapped computer would be worth to collectors.
Another device that used to puzzle me was the delay line in colour TV sets.
I later learned how they words, but never worked it out from breaking them apart.
I think as modern technology gets better this old tech becomes even more amazing. I think about 8kB computers and how 64kB was considered huge and we wondered why we would ever need more or how we'd handle an address bus bigger than 16 bits.
Ever step of the way there was something more amazing to look forward to each time we crossed a previous limit.
