    Default Upgrade

Austech will be upgrading to VBulletin 4 in the near future. I am not not a fan of upgrading just for the sake of it but as VBulletin 5 has just been released its realistic to expect that support for VB3 will end in the next few years.

VBulletin 4 has been up and running for a few years now and has had all bugs ironed out. All the addons we use such as itrader for example, are compatible so its time to start getting ready.

VBulletin 4 is slightly different in looks to VB3 and also has improved features.

Ok, we are up and running on VB4.

Yes, I do know some things are broken.

Yes, I do know some things are missing.

Please dont report them to me until I ask people to in several days. This is the biggest upgrade we have ever undertaken and its probably going to take me a week to get through a very long list of things to fix/replace/repair.

    Thanks for your patience.

There shouldn't be any difference in speeds, it's only a software upgrade, not a server upgrade, well done on the upgrade, I certainly don't envy all the work ahead of you sanity, people who arnt familiar with Vbulletin don't realize the behind the scene work that's required to keep it running sweet, and Vbulletin software is so expensive now

Fark me i thought i was in the wrong forum, had to check 3 times to be sure this is the same place...yep same user id's...

Id imagine there is a fair bit of work ahead for Sanity, we had all better get off his back and give him a chance to get everything sorted.

Then we can all go back to giving him hell.

Regardless.. it's loading much quicker for me.

As for a software upgrade not affecting speed.... have you never noticed changes in speed when changing some software applications on your computer?

Seems pretty quick to me too....

I find it way faster as it is not doing that redirect thing every time you click a link

Thanks for all the work Sanity

It should be pretty much exactly the same speed as the old version.

you might want to edit your templates and get rid of
