Hi Downunder,
Can I use this new Nav for my Start 10? and if so do I choose the full back up version?
Cheers
Thanks for the feedback, I'm sure other users will like to know that too.

No idea, I have not got any feedback for those devices.
But if is still based on NC9 you can try but I would recommend the try the HS version is you don't get any sound.

Hi again, Even though I have changed the navcore before I do not remember how I did it?
Could you point me in the right direction and can I just change the navcore and nothing else......Thanks

There is no significant difference betwenn the 9.430 and the 9.485.
If your setup is running fine you should save you the trouble and stick with it

Ok sounds like that's a good plan then, just though the directions it gives on some trips could be better...
Thanks for the reply

It is mainly an update to (officially) support other devices.
So far I have not noticed any deifference to the 9.430 that would be worth to mention.
Finding a good working NC fpr limited devices as yours can be tricky and unless new maps are no longer supported or huge improvements have been made it is best to stick what is working.
However, you can make a full backup using Windows Explorer and overwrite your existing setup with either the version for the GO models or the HS version.
Using the installer you don't have to worry about doing it right - it only depends on the version you choose, rest works automatic

Hello there yes ma again
I did put in the new nav and the FB version and all I did was copy all the files across and unplug the tt it loaded and I was checking out the new voices and looking at this and that when I got to the end there was the skin chooser., there was lots of options to pick so for the first one I picked the Start 1 and now it's got the reboot loop so can you help with that please

LOL, that can happen on limited devices and is quite easy to fix:
Open the file "reskin" in the folder "skins" with an editor.
By default a complete one looks like this:
slf-Self;slf-Self;17-Rider;34-ONE;35-XL;36-XL LIVE;37-GO x50;39-Start;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40
The first entry is double and selects the emulation in use.
On your device it would be "39-Start;39-Start;...."
Edit the line, remove the unwanted emulations and set whatever works in the front, e.g.:
18-GO x20;18-GO x20
You can leave the rest unless you find other emulations that work fine for you and add them for selection.
If you only need one emulation you only need one double entry as in the example above.

???
You said Start Emu is not working, but you still have it first, also you did not use the coorect "names" for the emu.
If you tried it that way you must have noticed problems...
Try it this way:
18-GO x20;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40;36-XL LIVE
Green is the default Emu that is used at startup, blue the other available emulations.
The default must always be like in green, two times the same value!
You have to check yourself which emulation is working on your device and best to remove all non working emulations from the reskin file.

That line is the way I found it I did not change it
This is as it's now 18-GO x20;18-GO x20;17-Rider;34-ONE;35-XL;36-XL LIVE;37-GO x50;39-Start;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40

Did you try a hard reset followed by the TT clear flash tool?
And are you sure the reboot is not caused by your mapsettings.cfg?

Thanks for the continued info + help Downunder
I did try the hard reset (hold pwr button in 30sec) and no it won't do it...
I will see if the mapsettings.cfg is causing the problem, also there would be no point using the flash tool if it won't reset??

The hard reset should work when the device is off.
Turn on and hold the button.
When on (and reset works) you hold the power button until the device is off, keep it in until it starts again. - That is the hardcore version that I found some time ago on the official TT forum.
The clear flash should still work as it is "installed" on the device, do it 3 times and check again if the the reset works if you could not make it before.
