Hi, Yes you require a universal LNB. This has a slightly wider bandwidth than the 10700.

Hello all, I`m completely new to this and I live in the west Brisbane area.
I am setting up my new satellite tv system and I`m aiming it to Intelsat 18 to receive French TV from New Caledonia.
I have already got my Aston Simba receiver and card ( was on holiday over there ) and have the dish 95cm , mounts and cables.
The LNBF that I had purchased much earlier on is for the KU band in general , but reading around the net I`m beginning
to think I have the wrong one. The device is a Strong SRT L801 Input 11.7-12.75Ghz , Output 1000-2050 Mhz and LO 10.7Ghz
I have seen mention on another post here that Intelsat 18 is possibly operating at a lower frequency than this unit is capable of,
but I can`t be sure as my knowledge is very limited...... Can someone please advise me on this one....
