    Default Gold Card Problem

I have been trying to load info onto a goldie as follows

    Jaycar
    Card Writer
    1- PIC16F84
Load GFGold Dual No Updating CoCo.hex
Write - Red Light On (No Errors)

    2. 24C16
    Load GFGold V225 eeprom.hex
Write - Red Light Off (No Errors)

    3. FMCard
    Open GFGold.crd
    Send
    Open GFGoldPersonal.crd (with current details)
    Send

When I put the card in box... I get the message
    Invalid Card

I have tried different programs ICProg...LMedit... Card Writer.. FMCard
    Same result

    Invalid Card

Can any point me in the right direction... have I missed a step???

    Thanks

I would suggest to check and make sure Watchdog Timer (WDT) was off, when programming the PIC and EEProm.

    A long shot here.
My recent gold cards were much thinner than earlier ones and need a bit of tape over the end of it for the card reader of the decoder to recognise it...I have a strong 4658x decoder in which this is well known "feature"

Definitely looks like the New Gold card might be stuffed, especially if you can program the old one with no problems.

that sounds like the problem Al!, I was running 2 silvers and a goldie and one of my silvers "now" blatantly refuses to update!

and after reading in this thread about the newer version of silver & gold, the silver that refuses to update is indeed one of the new whites one from jaycar and it is showing the exact same message as invalid card.

I might have a go at reprogramming tonight as there should be no reason why it doesn't update

well my 9yr old (under my instruction of course) has managed to reprogram the silver that was playing up I mentioned earlier.

seems to be updating ok for the moment....but for how long I'm not really sure. at least he's chuffed anyway
