The whole world will descend on Cairns for the early morning total solar eclipse on Wednesday November 14. Wish I was going but my health isn't up to it. While totality covers a fairly small area in FNQ, for much of the rest of Australia there will be a partial eclipse. This page gives charts for the times around the rest of Australia.
Hope it's clear!

Thanks for that info. At my daughters school one of the parents will bring a Telescope with filter so some classes can watch it from 7.15 onwards.
Here's the Sun the day before. A few spots visible. ED80 refractor and Orion solar filter pic.
Expecting some good pics learjet
Unfortunately I'm just outside the path of totality so there won't be any spectacular pics of the corona from me. Just bites taken out of it like a piece of pie.
I didn't see it mentioned on that website but are those times local or all AEST or all ADST?
Andrew
Local time zones by the looks.
I'm currently making a camera bracket for my little meade 'scope.
Still got my welding lenses from the Venus transit ready to tape on the front.
Darwin just misses out on totality, but only by a whisker. Hopefully I'll get some good sunrise shots over the city.
Here is the poor man's version with no telescope as a practice for tomorrow with the sun spots:
Just an old point and shoot camera, hand held and the glass from a welding mask held in front of it, giving it an inspiring green colour
Lets hope the sky is clear tomorrow morning. Last night the stars where extremely brilliant here on mid north NSW. Saturn and it's moons were impressive just with my binoculars. Tonight is shaping up to be very clear again but tomorrow might not be so perfect. Cairns could be in trouble too.

With a photo processing program you can change the colour to something more natural. It doesn't have to be green.
Tried that but it went all blocky, blotchy, artifacts.
I already used a noise filter and pulled those sun spots out of almost nothing from the original.
In fact is was only because of the resemblance of the spots in your image that I attempted it, because I would have thought they were just jpg compression artefacts.
This is a garbage camera I bought for $80 no DSLR.

Had a really good view here in Mackay. We were so close to total but not quite. It got fairly dim and eerie here. The temperature also dropped.
A 3 shot sequence through an ED80 refractor and a 50mm wide showing the eclipse just above the trees.
Didn't get to finish the camera bracket for the telescope, but got some great views anyway.
These pics are from my DSLR with built-in 10x optical zoom and no filter.

Great shots rising over the city Onefella.
Thanks LJ, I had a good long look at your very nice telescope shots too. I could see all the sunspots and detail through my telescope, but alas, lacked the technology to take a decent photo of it.
There's an annular eclipse here in Darwin next year. Hopefully I'll be a bit more prepared.
Yes, May 10 and another morning one.
