No quality isn't improved I'm watching on dodo and I have to select watch at lower quality to avoid buffering.
But it isn't bad at that level and better than most free streams out there.
I've selected the Cheaper no DVR pack as previously the DVR recording quality isn't great.

You're allowed with ustvnow account to link to 3 roku's so you could split the costs with 3 family members with Roku's all sharing one account if you wanted to.

Just having a look again at this , the full screen channels appear to be of much better quality than when I last watched them. Having said that, the quality is pretty poor on most channels.

If they made them all full screen I would consider subscribing again. The full screen channels are a vast improvement on a large screen compared to the 4:3 channels. They still have a long way to go.

Pheggie: You can actually click on high and then reload the stream to get better DVR quality

How do you select to watch on a lower quality to avoid buffering?

On Roku quality is automatically selected you have no control they need to add more bandwidth to avoid buffering.
On PC you can select quality they have multiple streams from low to high and some HD

Ok. On my roku it ways tries to select highest quality and it buffers too much so pretty much unwatchable...

Not always the highest quality for me it seems to depend on what is the channel then it tries high quality then rebuffers to a lower quality so is watchable by me on some channels, but not all.

Thanks. It's a shame the roku can't stream without buffering unless I change it to 1Mbps..The web player is fine though

    Hi Pheggie,

    Here you go:
From your Roku home menu, hit:

    - Home key 5x
    - Rewind 3x
    - Fast Forward 3x

A secret menu will pop up. Select the lowest bitrate and it will allow you to stream at lower qualities all the time on certain channels, which will decrease bandwith on certain channels.

But I think it only works on some channels as it won't work with channels with adaptive streaming which automatically chooses the best stream...

    Cheers,
    K.

Yes sometimes it looks very blocky sometimes it looks okay most of the time it's watchable Roku shows two quality bars when USTVNOW channels loading but it's better than rebuffering and even when roku set to 2Mbps and streaming USTVNOW HD it sometimes is blocky though it can't handle a steady stream at HD

Its a disappointing service. It has the potential to be fantastic if they get it up to the same standards other services are using.

I have a feeling the stream is to the east coast of the USA? I find that if I stream to the west coast of the US, I can get over 2Mbps stable... To the east coast approx 1.3Mbps at best for me. I am on a telstra bigpond cable connection.

They have added CBS to their HD WS list possibly more HD channels but I'm not subscribed at moment.
