Default What Satellite is going to carry Foxtel HD

I am wondering what Satellite is going to carry Foxtel HD. Is it up in the sky yet?
Will it be the same point as C1? Would like to spy on anything happening
there for a bit of fun. Any help welcome.

i heard it is to be D3, and that is meant to be in the same orbital slot as C1, but i doubt fuxtel will carry true HD, due to bandwidth, or lack of, maybe upscaled SD.

High definition repeats of old programs and the same programming advertisement repeated hour after hour on discovery channel in hi definition that’s not really high definition I can hardly wait for it
    .
If the idiot bean counters at Foxtel have paid money for extra transponder space for HD rather than improving their programming or fee structure then ##@@@&#(

They will have to put some effort into HD as that will be the next big push in TV. It wouldn't surprise me though if they simply put it in wide screen format and try and pass it off as HD like with there big change to digital that wasn't.

D3 isnt due to launch until well after the advertised release date of Foxtel HD. As they have only committed so far to two channels of HD it can be still done on C1. 1081i HD uses four times the bandwith of SD, and you should have noted there has been a recent reshuffle of channels so now there is eight "spare" channels on the same TP? 8/4=2, there is your TP for the two HD channels they promise, until D3 comes online and "co-locates" with C1.

Thanks guys, would mpeg-4 really require four SD channels space per HD channel or do you mean mpeg-2 HD.

Also won't they have to re-encode FTA channels
9HD, 10HD, ABCHD to mpeg-4 that should give a good guide in the lossiness
of picture quality over FTA and how much of a con Foxtel HD will be.

Also what a con about paying hundreds for Foxtel HD to see the Commonwealth games in HD when the best of it will be in HD FTA on Ten HD.
