    Default SEO Statistics

Web designers keep promoting the importance of the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Stats. I am wondering what these stats tell me. Are they a count of the number of hits on each page or do they also show the origin of those hits? Since they are used as a market research tool, I am wondering what else they tell me.

They do not tell the origin of hits but as the number of hits increase the page rank of the website increases in search engine and hence the website may appear in the first page.If the link appears in first page people will access the first link in most cases ..so if more people access the website the popularity of the website will increase. So SEO is important for a new website to make people aware that such a site exist.

best piece of advice I can give is register the business on google. (google maps) then when you log in you can see how many hits your site has had and also the word that brought them to your site.
