    Default Unresponsive WD device

    Hi All,

Recently my WD Live streaming unit has become unresponsive, at first I thought it was the remote so have changed two sets of batteries but the unit will not respond. I have removed power from the unit and allowed it to restart a couple of times but it gets stuck on the hope page.

Any thoughts and has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT------ started working again, must say the delay in executing commands is slow on the WD, the Roku didnt suffer from this lag.

    Thank you

Maybe worth a factory reset via the menu mate if its really laggy. I think it has been slower since the last firmware upgrade as well.

They are a lot slower than the Roku though.

Thanks sanity, thought it was just my unit. Ok will do a reset on the weekend.

Completely agree about the roku, about the only two positives i can say about the WD are its availability (can buy them anywhere) and the fact that you can enter the DNS setting directly on the unit. Roku certainly the way to go.

    Cheers

Changing subject here a liitle. Has anyone had any issues with watching VUDU movies? I can get the site and browse the selections but when I try and do a speed test which it offers the test fails?? There are three levels to the test, SD, HD(720) Full HD(1020) Had some existing credit so tried to watch a 3D movie (Lorax) for the kids and the show would not even begin. Is it a bandwith issue cuz Netflicks HD is fine........

    Speedtest on Vudu never works.

Best option, select your movie, select 2 min preview at HDX quality. If it plays fine continue, if it doesnt drop down to HD 720.

As a rough guide, you will need a 3.5 + mb connection for hdx 1080.
