Anyone know the right way to unlock these maps to get a Garmin Marine GPS to open these files
    even unlocked don't work
the G2 Vision card I bought many years ago is only 256mb and later maps just don't fit
of course loading them onto any old SD card doesn't work as the map needs to be unlocked using the SD card's ID
which needs to be a 10 digit number
Yes I've looked at the few in other posts but they are either only for Nav GPS or too vague to follow
GPS I have is a GPSMap-420 and takes only G2 Vision maps

    Default Extracting an SD's CID

Use to get out original SD's CID. Example: Card ID is in hex notation 62018ffe which translates to decimal 16442 69566 (10-digits number)

    Thank You jwoegerbauar.

I see the top method extracts a 10-Digit number, the e-how-too link extracts an 8-Digit Number
Would that get a different result or Card ID for the same card?
