Is there a nice printable channel <-> station list/guide for VAST radio?
There is a tidy readily printable on an A4 page list at 'sattvguide' (scroll down) for TV channels.

I got 99 problems and a crimp aint one...
Thanks Smacca 'n nbound.
'Twas a list of LCN's I was after.
Interesting that Wikipedia is the only/best source for this info.
I'll have a play and build the complete table, unless you already have one in excel?
A 2nd question?
What is the source of Chill and Pop Asia?
Not having listened to either but I would guess possibly SBS ?

Radio services on the Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) platform
Here is my attempt using the sources above, an STB and ... intuition for my location, Gloucester NSW, 'South Eastern Australia'.
They are in LCN order (rather than State Region order), as that creates logical groupings, on a state or region basis.
I've linked both the excel spread (so anyone can play the game) and a pdf version.
I can now tune 'my Vast radio' without the tele.

Nice one, Im assuming the lower numbered 2xx LCNs are only applicable for your location. But is definately something other could build on for a "cheat sheet"
I got 99 problems and a crimp aint one...
Another giveaway to channel origins was the '3' unless their using the State designated 2 NSW, 3 Vic,4 Qld, 5 SA, 6 WA and 7 Tas
3 is an SBS 'allocation it seems in the system for both TV and Radio.

Nice work! I like the idea of using the UEC as a standalone radio. There would have to be heaps of mechanics, mine sites, shops, schools, sheds, etc that would use VAST like this. As nbound hinted, the NSW stations LCNs would be incorrect if you use the list outside of NSW. Rather than making a list for each state, you could use both a Local and Interstate LCN on that list and denote the differences at the top? Just a thought...
Thanks Smacca,
You can probably help me with the LCN local vs Interstate so that I can make it tidier for national consumption? Note: I'm learning as I go. I'm way out of my depth here.
Looking at the LCN's that I can see (and taking an enormous leap of faith):
Local:
30 - 39? SBS local
200 - 219? ABC local
600 RPH local
Note: Not sure what the actual ranges are?
ABC Interstates:
220 - 224?
225 - 229? ABC NSW
230 - 234?
235 - 239? ABC VIC
240 - 244?
245 - 249? ABC QLD
250 - 254?
255 - 259? ABC SA
260 - 264?
265 - 269? ABC WA
270 - 274?
275 - 279? ABCTAS
280 - 284?
285 - 289? ABC NT
290 - 294 ABC QLD extras RN's
294 - 297 ABC NT extra RN's
What occupies the ABC 2X0-2X4 LCN's?
SBS Interstate look pretty similar:
325 - 329 SBS NSW
335 - 339 SBS VIC
345 - 349 SBS QLD
355 - 359 SBS SA
365 - 369 SBS WA
375 - 379 SBS TAS (none evident at this time)
385 - 389 SBS NT
As for the ABC, what occupies the SBS 3X0-3X4 LCN's?
As Gordon suggests; it appears to use the State numeric designators:
'2' = NSW, '3' = Vic, '4' = Qld, '5' = SA, '6' = WA, '7' = Tas, '8' = NT and '9' = a few messy left-overs?
Am I close?

what about commercial stations in the regions, does anyone have lists of what stations are available apart from the usual ABC, SBS stations?
Yeah that lists onl ABC, SBS and other public service broadcasters, I'm curious about what is available from commercial radio stations.

I cant see any 'Commercial' stations although I havent a clue who these 6XX and 9XX are coming from.
Some like Black Star on 920 have a very low volume compared to others.-

Hi Daniel. I presume this is the same Daniel that sent me an email regarding commercial radio on VAST? I'll post my reply here also.
There are five commercial radio stations which use VAST to deliver their services to remote transmission sites:
* Red FM (WA)
* Spirit Radio (WA)
* SCA Radio 1 (aka Hot FM WA)
* Sky Sports Radio (Aus)
* TAB Radio (WA)
These are not available to VAST viewers by default and are not listed on my website. The only way to get them is to obtain permission with the individual broadcasters, usually on behalf of a shire or council. Your business might be able to gain approval?
Otherwise the remaining radio services are listed on Sattvguide. If you want a full comprehensive list of every radio station, head to the below link and set the Type filter to Radio only:
