This canon caught my eye - we have a better model canon but I would stick with the name. Good price too.

One thing to check is the camera's ability to accept a 32GB SCHC 0r higher card if that's what your looking at as the storage medium.
I have an In Car and an el cheapo handheld and both seem to use about 4GB per hour of recording so for me anyway, BIGGER is definitely better..............
On devise said it would only handle 16GB I think it was but I put the 32GB SDHC and it worked so either the Highest value cards we'rent readily or cheaply available when the Specs were printed, so the maker opted to say what was.
I believe there is an SD card now available (but pricey) of a very high storage capacity, so its worth checking on.

This camera you're thinking of; are you looking at just a snapshot/point & shoot?

I guess by your price limit that snapshot is it, so if you want quality picture color tones, go for a Canon with the best Megapixel & optical zoom that fits the price.

I have a 10MP Canon Power Shot that takes very high quality pics for the $90 I paid for it 2 years ago.

The internal software & menus are very easy to use as well.

Shit that's a good camera for that price, I'm tempted to pick one up for a spare, or rather keep my old one as a spare.
    Thanks mkhannah.

The camera is a gift for a friend and I had to try and find out if they would prefer a standard compact camera or a camera with kick arse zoom. They wanted kick arse zoom.

    I ended up buying this

Ironically, that is the best price I could find for it, including ebay.

You get some pretty good bang for buck at the moment. Its hard to believe the best price I found was at Teds. About 10 years ago, a mate bought a similar camera, a Fujifilm with large zoom there and it cost him around $1000. I bought the same camera on ebay via asia for $600.

Now Teds is in front, how times change.

Another very nice camera for the price. 16 MP & 26x Optical zoom.

Must really piss people off that bought similar cameras for big bucks not long ago, to see the great prices now.

Hmmmmm, I think JB HiFi made an error, I got mine delivered for $98 plus $9 freight & am really happy with it.

Had a friend here today who liked the camera & said wow that's a good price, said can I get him one, so I Just went to the link & the price is now $198

So I'm glad I got in quick on that one.

I ended up buying one too , thanks for the heads up.

I always have my iPhone 4s on me, which suffices for most stuff but this will be perfect for the times when I want a better quality shot.
