Thanks Smacca, a few issues, hope it gets all of them.

Interesting it's just been released to UEC trialists and will be released publicly so soon.

I don't see the point in it being released for testing if it's to be released publicly so soon after.

No mention of what issues it's claimed to 'fix' but hopefully it's an improvement.

It's a pity a hardware fix for the crappy power supply isn't available.

I know this is a 12v DC input power supply but if it is OK why can't a better 240v AC be made? They sell the 12v one with the option of a 240v to 12v converter.

I don't think the Trial STB's will update automatically OTA.... ?

I think they need the update manually ?

I just finished the manual update [using the menu and I'm not in any trial] and it updated fine. Everything seems to work.

No, but there are a lot of shitty monuments out there.
After reading the above I have just manually updated one (4 to go) which makes me curious why didnt the Update run automatically and where is the info regarding this Update shown?
I see nothing on 800/801/802 other than the current advise regarding the changes regarding ABC during this month.
I have installed 3 STB's locally and I very much doubt their owners ever check the Info channels or would be prepared to do any Upgrades by themselves.

I believe They provide the "Manual" update by the STB Menu first..... "to test the waters".....if something happens, it does not effect a great deal of the Public...

& if there are not any problems, they will then set the Update to "mass" install automatically ...usually after a week or two

There appears to be a big change in the way the TV Guide works -- it now works much more quickly and loads quicker too. At last.

I did mine yesterday, the thing that annoyed me the most was that it stuffs up the external HDD and it asks you to remove or re-format and if you've got anything on it it's goodbye and as for removing the HDD that simply wont work, well it didn't for me at least so i had to change my HDD to one that I've got on my Mediastar and sacrifice it's contents to allow the upgrade to complete.
As a thought it may be an idea to remove the HDD first but who knows you just get led into the trap, still I'll try it on my other 4121 and see what happens.

New firmware update dosen't tell you that.

Purely by luck my HD was disconnected when I updated. I just reconnected and everything is fine.
