Default Bricked Psp (corrupted vsh) (4.01 m33-2)

    Okay, so i had 3.90 m33-4 cfw
and i heard about 4.01 m33-2 (Through these forums lol)
I went and upgraded it to 4.01 m33, then i did a update to m33-2

Everything worked fine, But i had the original sony background.

So i went into m33 recovery menu (ON + R Trigger)

I went into flash0 and replaced the vsh folders with folders from a theme (3.90 M33 THEME!)

When i clicked exit, The psp restarted and hanged at the sony boot screen.

    I then downloaded a theme made for 4.01 m33
I re-themed the flash0 with the downloaded one

And when i turn it on now i get a completely black screen and it just stays there :'( (Bricked?)

    Anyone know how to fix??

Or could anyone upload the vsh files for the 4.01 m33?

    Please And Thanks

    -Phil (sorry for the tl;dr)

Update: I Used dc4/5 to downgrade the psp to "3.80 m33" (Maybe 3.40 not sure because it extracted stuff from 1.50, 3.40, 3.80)

Once i got it to 3.80, i turn it on and i see the sony screen, it moves, then as the icons are about to appear i get a blue screen that says
"Setting information is corrupted. Press the O button to repair and restore default settings."
    Doing this does nothing... !

    Anyone have 3.80 VSH files?

Note: I already have all the flash0 files except the vsh files.

I only have 3.90 vsh files.

    UPDATE!:

    I downloaded 3.80 files.
When i replace all the files with the 3.80 files the screen goes black when i turn it on.

If i put in 3.90 vsh files i get a error saying:
"Setting information is corrupted. Press the O button to repair and restore default settings."
If i keep the Resources and the Modules folder from the 3.90
And then i change the etc folder for the 3.80 vsh files i downloaded i get a
(Red Screen!) A serious error has occured. Contact assistance line for help.
Any ideas? I think what i need to do is upgrade to 3.90 m33 and then use the original backup i had for 3.90m33

But how do i upgrade to there without access to psp menu??

Also if i try pandora, the screen is blank!

Format flash1 solves the "Setting information is corrupted" message.

[edit] I need to read this forum more.

    I used this guide>>
[GUIDE BELONGS TO HERCULES @ PSPMOD.COM

    LINK TO FULL GUIDE:

to do it yourself, you will need DCv3 (there is DCv4, but i havent tested it out yet)

just download this big old file called The Filez You Need.7z ()

    * after you have the downloaded files we will make a magic memory stick! ( the easiest part)
    - extract the The File You Need.7z to your desktop (use WinRAR)
    - Open README 1st folder
    - highlight and copy MSINST and MSPFORMAT FOLDER
    - open My Computer
    - Left Click the C: drive once (Note: if you double click, it will open C: drive)
    - Now RIGHT Click on C: drive and PASTE
    - format your memory stick thru your psp (Settings>System Settings>Format Memory Stick)
    - once that is done, enable USB mode
    - make note of your drive letter (usually E: or F)
    - open up command propmt (click Start, select Run, type in cmd and hit enter_
    - Type in the following command "CD C:\" (note: with-out quote mark) HIT enter
    - type the following command "mspformat\mspformat.exe X" ( where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
    - hit Y, then enter
    - it should say "Drive succesfully formatted, and partition moved."
    - disable USB mode, and take out the memory stick
    - now re-insert the memory stick, and re-enable(this guide was made by hercules on pspmod.com) USB mode
    - Now go back to the Desktop where you extracted the folder "The File You Need"
    - double click it
    - open the Despertar v3 folder, and copy its contents to your psp (just the contents, not the actual folder)
    - now go back to your prompt window
    - type the following command "msinst\msinst.exe X msinst\msipl.bin" (again where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
    - press Y and hit enter
    - The last line should say " Write MS BOOT CODE "
    - then type exit and enter
    * you now have a magic memory stick!

It was pretty much those instructions, except that i didnt have access to psp so i used the card reader on my psp to do the formating, and then putting the files on. Once i was done i inserted my pandora while the memory stick was in. The Pandora screen loaded up and installed 3.71 m33. I then upgraded directly to 4.01 m33.

I then learned to use CXMB for my themes

Hey, I usually use psp grader.

I used psp grader to mod it originally.

And i tried to recover it with both psp grader v1, v3, v5

and none of them worked, like when i put battery in and then memory stick i just get a black screen.

After giving up all hope i went onto irc.dark-alex.org and spoke to some people who guided me through

The loader in grader needs you to hold down left trigger to go into pandora mode.
