    Question NAVMAN S30 - Updating

    Hi All,
Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist.

I own a TT730 and have successfully updated it at least 2-3 times with maps.
So in a friend's eyes who knows nothing about these things or PC's, I am the best person to go to for assistance.

Being an expert on updating maps for the TT (not without the assistance of ppl from this forum and moderators/experts etc - but my friend doesn't need to know), I am the ideal person to turn to.
However, they don't own a TT, they have the Navman S30.

From what I have come across so far, it seems that Navman devices or maps cannot be updated without paying handsome amounts to Navman.

    Is this the case?

Also, it seems I can change the core (o/s) to another brand and use the maps for that core.
If this is right, where can I find a tutorial on doing this?

I may be the expert in my friend's eyes but in reality, I'm just a noob.

If someone could assist, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    BV

You have to check if you "unlock" your device - type navman and unlock into Google and you'll find a website that lists what is possible.
After that feel free to install Igo, Primo or any othe CE based GPS software.

    Cool

    Hi there,
It's been a while since I visited this site due to other commitments.
However, I wanted to tackle this issue again, as my neighbour is still pestering me for it.
I think I have managed to unlock her Navman S30 using Mio Moov, because now when I start the Navman I get a windows type screen with a start button and 1 icon SmartST.
I think if I tap on SmarST it will start the NAVMAN s/w.
My concern is how I can get TT software and associated maps onto this device or the SD card.

If anyone can assist it would be great.
I have searched in google and youtube, but there is not much info available.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi again,
OK I seem to have the necessary files on my PC but where to from here?
Do I connect the Navman to the PC and then simply copy the TT navigator folder to the SD card along with the maps folder?
Do I use FA by running the executable on my PC or from the the Navman.?

    Thank you for any help.

Copy the files to the sd card, it's better to put the sd card in a card reader and run FA from your PC.
