Being a bit strapped for cash lately and not wanting to stop collecting, I decided to go after some badges I have been after for a while as they realistically inexpensive. What is the ARP ? Its probably easiest you take a read here
The early ARP lapel badges were made of sterling silver, after 1939 they were made out of a white metal with no markings to save on money.
The dates for the letters on the hallmark are as follows:
A=1936
B=1937
C=1938
D=1939
Men's badges came in a red box, while ladies badges came in a blue box though its rare to find any with a box these days. The mens and ladies also had a different back on them with mens being botton hole and ladies having a pinback.
I believe there are a number of different maker marks, but the 3 I have purchased are all marked JC, which I believe were manufactured by Cartier.
