Default Error message E74 - 32 LNB Overload

Hoping someone can help but on a recent trip my VAST set up was working OK when a gust of wind blew rhe dish over. Since then I have not been able to tune my dish in although I have used the STB with another dish.
Could this message indicate my LNB has been damaged by the knock?
Does anyone know where I can access these error messages.
    Regards,
    John

This is all I could find about error Messages (from the DSD 4121 Manual page 19)

Here is the current DSD 4121 Manual version 2.0

but if your STB works OK on another Dish Setup....

then the problem is with your portable dish Setup, maybe damaged LNB or the cabling, etc...

To add to osirus's tips maybe your dish actually got bent in the fall.

Just make sure you always peg your dish to stop it falling.

LNB overload usually means the LNB is drawing too much current, which may indicate the LNB is faulty, or there is a short in the cabling/connectors somewhere.

If you have a multimeter, check there's no shorts in your cabling and connectors and also measure the voltage at the connector on the coax when removed from the LNB.

If it's around 13-14VDC, then the cable and connector are OK, so the LNB would be the suspect.

Check the cable wasnt pinched or kinked in the fall.

As marty17 says, check the dish/arm wasnt bent in the fall, the arm needs to be in the correct spot for the signals to focus on the LNB.

In general LNBs are usually pretty bulletproof.

Apart from the LNB being defective as MTV suggests, I was wondering how you had the cable attached to the LNB.
If as in a home setup, the cable was securely attached to the LNB arm, dont read on but if it was just 'Free' and when the dish etc took off, it all bounced around like a Kite hanging on to the end of the line, then I would look at a problem in the connector or the F connector on the LNB.
As a test I would replace the coax and connectors completely and if that doesnt work, then replace the LNB, hoping the LNB arm hasnt been bent.
It most likely will depend on whether the Dish just simply blew over or was sent flying.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

I would expect that a bent arm or dish would just result in a weak or no signal problem.

The LNB overload error has to be a short in the cable, F con, or LNB itself.

thank you all for your quick responses. Yes an expensive way to learn but you can be certain the dish will be securely pegged in future.
The cabling was damaged but I had spare to try so at this stage I will assume the LNB is at fault and I will try to borrow one and check it out.
    Thank You all,
    John

    E74 - LNB1 overload

The TV1 LNB has a short. Please check your connection or call a MultiChoice Office or Accredited installer for assistance.
