I am not sure if similar discoveries happened previously but it does look very interesting.

There are several instances of fossil-like structures being found in meteorites and similar things. Unfortunately as the meteorites have often been on earth for millennia, it is impossible to verify that the structures came from outside earth instead of just getting onto the meteorite after it landed.
