Making bootable windows disc
Looking for some suggestions for easiest way to do this
I had Windows 7 on a disc, which ended up getting a crack in the centre of it. I managed to save the contents of the disc and want to burn it back to disc. When I burn it to disc, its not a bootable disc, it can be used to install windows but wont boot a computer.
Presumably I need to create an .iso image and burn it, what program will make an actual bootable disc ?
TIA

Mate, if you need a bootable disc I can mail one to you that is bootable 32/64 bit win 7 sp1 ultimate...PM if you want one
This is using nero...there are lots of 'portable' versions that don't require it to be installed or cracked out there
Mate, I posted an app for extracting boot data I think it was called bootextract or something.
You just need to extract the info then burn it to cd/dvd or put it on a usb stick.
I have Active@ Data Studio which has Active@ Boot Disk Suite included if you want it uploaded somewhere.
I appear to have busted my DVD/BD drive Looks like I am going to have to fix that first. Calibration errors ??

You need to have the bootsector or booting part to create the DVD bootable.
Alternative is to download the WIN7SP1 ISO from microsoft and burn that. And if needed you can run the multiconfig editor that converts the ISO to a all version of windows before burning it.
This will then allow you to select the different types of installs during the setup.
Make bootable usb thumb drive app is by microsoft stop playing around with disc's move forward with technology
