Default Magnavox VCR - Err Mesage?

    Hi

I've been getting some ERR messages lately on my Magnavox VCR it plays and fast forwards without problem but when I try to rewind it just crashes and a ERR message comes up on screen and the whole VCR just turns off and when i turn it back on it spits out my cassette with the film not rolled up

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? is it something simple that can be done I've tried cleaning the whole thing like opening it up and getting rid of all the dust ( even though there wasn't much ) and cleaning the head with some cleaning solution.. but still same problem

    any ideas ?

    Thanks

Depends on what model but I would be looking at the mode switch
They are easy enough to pull apart and clean
Look at the picture and you can see there are 2 parts the black bit and the white bit they can be pulled apart

It normally has a motor on top of it or next to it and its the size of 20/50 cent piece
