The picture below shows how to get into service mode.

    What's wrong with it ?

Hi, I have two problems on my TV:

    (1) Can't get DTV channels, DTV button on remote says unavailable, have tried factory reset from service mode without success.
Also tried changing ch.Table and tuner settings, do you know what are the correct service mode settings for OZ DTV?

    (2) Power on clicking problem - have replaced the blown caps- still no good, haven't tried EPROM fix yet.
Do you have the service mode settings to set after the EPROM change, thanks.

I would be getting a new eeprom and fitting it. You'll find another thread for this model in the electronics section, but I'll post up a picture of the settings later tonight.

    Hi mick,

Could you please post up a picture of the service mode settings thanks.

Just want to ask your advise on another issue, if the firmware upgrade download is buggered and the TV can't turn on, with only LED blinking but no clicking sound,
can it be fixed by replacing with a blank eeprom (24LC256) or does the eeprom have to be programmed with the firmware thanks.

Ok I'm still looking for the settings picture. But in the mean time if your carefully remove IC1803 then power the set up, it should start-up most likely with snow on the screen. If it does then yes go ahead and install a generic eeprom. The TV then writes to the new eeprom when it first turns on.

    Hi Mick,

I have tried shorting PIN 5 & 6 on IC1803 first and it appears to do the trick, I got into Service mode, do a reset, power on TV again and is able to tuned the Digital channels,
the TV now power on & off without issues, just need to check whether the settings are correct thanks.

I have a firmware upgrade/ power on issue with another TV LA40A550P1FXXY and have started another thread for your advise thanks.

Hi Mickstv and everyone else who has contributed to this thread. A big thankyou for this valuable information that you all have offered and asked, it seems like a great community where everyone is willing to offer positive info and direction regardless of members skill level. I too will attempt this repair after finding out my unit has just experienced the same issues.
    Thanks Phill

I thought I would approach Samsung first seeing they created this engineering design mess in the first place. After being messed around by Samsung Customer care who offered me an one time out of warranty allowance OTA they went to the trouble of sending out a tech to repair the TV with the intention of charging me with the repair, not informing me otherwise, well lets say they know what I think of them now. I have since repaired it myself thanks to all the members here cheers to you all.. Great job keep up the great sharing of knowledge.
    Thx
